finally no salt
I ordered bromelain powder from this company after purchasing Adolph's Unseasoned tenderizer in a large 44oz jar using Amazon.com. I was expecting Adolph's unseasoned to not have salt etc. in it. It turns out that Adolph's product is mostly salt and a little sugar. I specifically ordered unseasoned Adolph's tenderizer, because I like to regulate the amount of salt to my own personal tastes. I was disappointed to find salt was the major ingredient in Adolph's. So I poured out the Adolph's, and ordered 16oz of bromelain powder and filled the Adolph's jar with the pure bromelain powder that I ordered. I ended up with a jar labeled meat tenderizer for my cupboard. It doesn't quite fill up the 44 oz jar. Bromelain or papain is the main active ingredient in most tenderizers, so with a little rough guesswork, there must be a lot of salt added to create 44oz of Adolph's tenderizer. I will say that salt by itself is used for tenderizing meat in certain cases, but takes time to work. I'm happy with the pure bromelain powder from Wendy's.

Okay, not very pure
Note; 74 GDU is not very pure, 3000 GDU is pretty much pure bromelain. GDU is "gelatin digesting units" and is a measure of the enzyme activity and purity. I purchased this without knowing what GDU meant.
