Bought this due to the Zombies connections. Chris White produced the ten tracks - a mix of rock and prog that was influenced by Argent, Flash and even Yes. Despite a well rounded effort, the LP sank without a trace upon its 1974 release. The first few tracks seem forced but then you get to the sixth track, Sleepless Night, and wow. The following four tracks maintain the same high standard. Another standout is the final track, a suite of sorts called The Plank/Devil On The River. Complex interplay between keyboards and guitar with some classical influences. ProgTemple reissued this - consistent with their efforts to showcase some forgotten prog treasures and Life fits the bill. If you like melodic progressive rock with top musicians you should rediscover this little treasure.

1974年にリリースされたイギリスのバンドLife唯一のアルバム。後にThe Kinksなどで活躍するIan GibbonsやPeter Greenとの活動でも知られるRoger Cottonの２人のキーボード奏者が参加していることもあって、オルガン・ロックを思わせる部分やプログレ・ハード的な展開があり、サウンドは如何にもブリティッシュ・ロックといった感じである。アルバム・ジャケットといい、コーラスといい、ユーライア・ヒープをオマージュしているところが何ともB級的で、ブリティッシュ愛好家には堪らない！
