For Steven Seagal, this is one of his better movies
I have to say I wasn't expecting much out of a Steven Seagal movie. Often the plots are disconnected, with big loop holes, and sometimes is a stretch of imagination to follow the flow, reasons things are happening, or why the characters are doing what they are doing and everyone doesn't seem to have the proper reaction to what's going on. (Because everyone just continues with what they are doing while two men are shooting each other with guns in the middle of the road? And no innocent pedestrians seem to be killed? No cops want to get involved in the high speed car chases with massive explosions and crashes?) These movies are great if you are, say, cleaning a house, distracted, or sick, because, let's face it, if you turn your attention away you're no more confused then you would be if you were paying close attention. But, just like everyone else, I'm attracted to his movies because of the beautifully choreographed fight scenes and how artful he can be with just his hands. Plus, who doesn't like to see the the good guy kick some butt without the help of super human powers? And, he's actually a good looking man, so that's a bonus. That being said, surprisingly, for one of HIS movies that is directed and/or produced by HIM, this plot seems to actually make sense and flow correctly. And the characters seem to actually have proper reactions to what is going on around them (you know, being TRAUMATIZED about the fact that I was just kidnapped and help for ransom, not acting so blaze like this is so normal I'm just used to it), so kudos to the writers and actors for that. So, I would definitely say this is one of his better movies, and would recommend it to Seagal fans, and anyone who wants to see what the fuss is about with him. Still, keep in mind, it's a Seagal film, not a Hollywood blockbuster, so expect the same formatted and easy to predict plot that comes with it, bland dialogue, one dimensional characters, and of course, the beautiful martial arts, seamlessly choreographed fights, and for the men out there, the naked women in the club, nice cars, and big guns.

Guilty Pleasures
Really good Steven Seagal movie. I like them all. Maybe It's because I did some research into what the man has been about. His accomplishments as a human being 'blew me away' (ha ha). I like 'good' movies too. But sometimes it's nice to sit back and watch some good old fasioned macho alpha-male kick-ass fake violence. God knows, there's enough real violence in the world to run away from once in a while. And I pretty much know exactly what I'm getting and how it's going to end and who's gonna win! Bottom line - I don't know why I like him and I don't question it. I don't like all action stars or action movies, or action genres - zombie flicks and tons of blood don't do much for me. I don't review those movies 'cause I don't watch them. I don't understand why anyone would take the time to dis a Steven Seagal flick because they don't like him. If you don't like his stuff, why are you watching it? Duh.

Steven Seagal is getting back..
I'm a big huge fan of Steven Seagal. I mean I had all his movies (maybe I have some that He does not have in his own collection). The plot in this movie is that some bad guys kidnapped a friend's daughter on his watch and now he needs to get her back. I enjoyed the movie at least is better than a few from the last movies he got out on DVD. This is not an masterpiece as Out for Justice or Above the Law ( "Have you seen Nico?") but is very enjoyable for any Steven Seagal fan. If you saw Man on Fire from Denzel Washington you may like this one. (But The Keeper is not as good as Man on Fire).

Steven Seagal travels to Texas to protect the daughter of a friend
Some of the continuity in the movie was not smooth and the viewer had to make some quick assumptions to follow the story line. But overall it was a typical Seagal movie with the invincible man winning in the end.

The Keeper is a Keeper, but give it is own name
Would the film industry please stop repeating names of movies. Every movie ever made should have it's own name, kind of like every person has there own SSN. I know it's difficult to find new names with all the movies that have ever been made, but still think it is possible.Otherwise, really good effort here from Seagal in the Keeper. Very original being some of his movies plots sometimes can be repetitive. Appears he does all his fight scenes and no voice dubbing from what I can tell. Well written story line that kept my attention well from the beginning to the end. For sure one of his best DTV releases so far, a must for every Seagal fan.Peter J. Miller

Cozy little movie
Though "The Keeper" not might be brilliant, it's a cozy movie. (If one can use that expression with all the bullits flying around all the time). But it is very easy to follow, and that's what I like about it. One can see, that Seagal is getting older. When Charles Bronson doesn't perform anymore I don't think it is as bad, as many of the reviewers think it is. The low rates from them, makes me rate this with 4, and not 3 stars.

Okay if you like steven segal
Typical segal movie. Lots of guns and action and a hot woman, not much to be said really. How he keeps pumping out this many films in a year is amazing. As for the quality i think this has been converted from dvd to blu ray as the quality isnt no where as good as some major titles ive seen.

Steven Seagal is back on track. Great Movie!
From about 2002 to 2005 Seagal was really not very good at picking movies. Or maybe those he made were the only ones offered to him. Lately though, his pictures are getting better and better with each one.The last ones like Against the Dark, Kill Switch and Driven to kill were all pretty good movies. This latest one might have even made it into theaters if Seagal Movies didn't retain a certain distrust from the audience. As for the Plot:Seagal plays a Cop who is betrayed and shot by his partner, but survives. Soon after he is discharged from the force due to medical complications. Moments after getting the dismissal notice he receives a Call from an old friend of his who is now a rich property owner in Texas begging him to help him out with a big security problem. His daughter was recently the victim of a kidnapping attempt and he begs Seagal to look after her. Of course the noble knight can't refuse a plea from an old friend.Well long story short he travels there fights a lot of bad guys, kills a bunch of them and the whole process of doing so looks really great.Of course this Movie can't keep up with $100 Million Productions but it can easily keep up with such movies as "War" or the "Transporter"-Movies.I can only speak for the Blu Ray but the PQ is excellent and the DTS HD Master Sound is also pretty great. For Seagal Fans this should be a no brainer and for fans of decent action flicks you might wanna try it.
