Good, but could be better.
The history was fairly interesting, and she gives a thorough explanation of how to make the starter. But why not even a whole page on actually making the bread? And there are grammar and punctuation mistakes that are distracting, butwhat I'm surprised that no one else mentioned is that the first recipe, for the 49er Flapjack, has a glaring mistake in that she says "add the flour and blend to combine," but nowhere says how much flour to use!

Who doesn't love sourdough bread?
I love sourdough bread! I could easily eat sourdough bread any time of day, just as a snack. I lived in Taiwan for about 5 years and the bread there was truly awful. How I longed for some real sourdough bread. If I had my Kindle and a copy of this book at the time, I could have just made it myself. How cool would that be? This book is like the Sourdough Bread Bible. It tells you everything you would ever want to know about sourdough bread, including the history of the bread and (most importantly) how to make it!I highly recommend this book to all lovers of sourdough bread.

A pamphlet... not a book
I was expecting a cook book with instructional photos ... this is a very basic pamphlet with no good step by step photos. It also did not come with variations on recipes .. so very minimal information. I was disappointed.

For a beginner, this is WONDERFUL!
I will admit, I am just shy of a complete beginner to sourdough, but for someone as inexperienced as I, this was a wonderful companion read to my other online studies! It highlighted several key points such as creating and maintaining your SD starter, tips for proper rising conditions, and many other suggestions that I am sure will come big into play as I try my hand at some of these delectable sounding recipes!

Interesting
I learned a lot about Sourdough bread. It wasn't so detailed that the information became a blur. I really enjoyed this quick little read.

Sorry can't recommend this
Sorry can't recommend this. Only bought it because it was so cheap....and yeah you get what you pay for. I thought it would have some useful info, but the whole thing is only about 30 pages and most of those are just recipes. All the info and A LOT more could have been got off a half decent website. Don't waste your money....

Terrible quality
Very poor quality. Not a professionally bound book. The cover picture is pixelated & obviously taken straight from the net & the page layout & typeface are typed up in Microsoft word. Not a Β£6 book. It's being returned tomorrow morning.

Chemistry understood
The only book that I have read out of many so far, that explains the "science" behind sourdough in a very simple and easy to understand way. Great recipes too.
