Original Album Classics by Sony Bmg Europe (2009-04-07)

This is the perfect Kansas compilation for those who are upgrading their old lp collections, for new fans, or for die-hard supporters of this phenomenal band. Epic original Album Classics series has presented the five greatest albums of Kansas in one (reasonably priced) package. While the information is sparse on the cover box, these cds have a re-mastered quality and includes demo and live bonus tracks. I have three Kansas compilation box sets but the Epic series is still the best since it contains all of the Kansas catalogue from 1974-1978. I have purchased Two for the Show and Monolith separately to round out the best of Kansas during this era.I still look forward to a Steve Wilson treatment of Song For America or Masque or Leftoverture or Point of Know Return but until then--this is the best presentation you can get of America's finest progressive rock band-KANSAS.

Great deal for a Kansas collection that includes The Point of No Return (remastered I think?) disc. Sure you get Carry on Wayward Son, Song for America, Journey to Mariabronn songs on some of the other discs. People who listen to Kansas know this set is a keeper, those that know their few commercial hits need this for a great start at digging deeper in a master musician prog rock bands library.

Kansas really is one of those groups that has a tremendous body of work but never got the huge following that other huge groups have enjoyed, say like Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, or the Rolling Stones. But I would put Leftoverture and Point of No Return albums up their with any great albums past. This package deal of their first 5 studio albums is a great opportunity to see the roots that led up to the above albums which are #4 and #5 respectively. Sadly, after PONR album, they seemed to decline in quality. Perhaps ruined by success. Happened to Pink Floyd also. The packaging is adequate, perhaps flimsy, but HEY, its the music that sells it. Great bargain, 5 for the cost of 1 practically.

This is a great, low cost, collection. A great way to get 3 albums I used to have on cassette (and 2 I didn't have). I'm not an audiophile, but the sound seems very good to me on my truck speakers. Plus, each CD comes with a couple of bonus tracks.

Classic rock at its best !! Kansas will always be one of the very best American bands from the seventies, talented and creative artists to be proud of. This collection of 5 of their classic albums is worth every penny.

Very good discs with beautiful packaging - like original vinyl, but small in size. The recording quality is excellent.

While I already have Leftoverture In do not have the other 4 d'd. So I am very to have the other 4. It is a great collection.

This is a great CD set! For a great price you get the first five classic albums from Kansas. And the best part is that all the albums have been remastered!! They sound great! A couple bonus tracks on each album is also a nice surprise!
