Mighty Black Pepper Chicken Bar
I am only reviewing the Black Pepper Chicken Bar. I have not tried any of the other varieties so please keep that in mind. This review was based on my experience with a single bar. 4 stars.First off, I am not so sure about the easy peel individually wrapped description. I had to get a pair of Cutco kitchen shears to open the plastic wrapper. It is thick and vacuum sealed. I like it actually. It is well packaged. There wasn't any particular place to start opening it. No nick, no notch, no loose ends. You may have to go at it with your teeth if that's all you have on hand. The bar was received in November of 2018 and had a "best before 3/20/19." I had about a 4 month window. Maybe because it's organic and doesn't have a bunch of nasty preservatives in it, it has a shorter shelf life. I am not sure but if you order a case of these you will want to make sure they are eaten before the "best before".I love the organic ingredients and healthy approach. If this had won my taste buds over this would have been a 5 star rating even with the $3.33 per bar price. It has a lot of premium ingredients and processing methods and is reflected in the price, but the flavor has to be fantastic at this top shelf pricing level to be a 5 star item. The texture is drier and meatier. Very much a jerky sensation. Bits of dried organic spices can be seen, felt and tasted in the chicken jerky. It looks like chicken too. The black pepper is a predominant flavor. I think it is a bit too much for my tastes. Maybe that's where they lost me on this one. I wouldn't find myself wanting to eat these on a regular basis. But I can imagine that maybe the Sweet Chili Chicken is better. If you really like a strong black peppercorn flavor with little bits of crunchy black pepper in there then you may really like this. For me it was only so-so. I am still giving it a four star rating because I really like the ingredients and organic healthy approach. My advise would be to just make sure you like black pepper if you get the black pepper one because it's on the strong side.

Satisfying but salty
PROS* Good macronutrient profile, at just 35 calories per bar, 2.5 g fat, 2 g carb (2 g sugar) and 8 g protein. The sodium is higher than I prefer, at 340 mg* Ingredient profile is also great, primarily organic, with no hidden fillers or unnecessary additives* Flavor is pretty solid (black pepper) but overly saltyCONS* Texture is a little tough, chewy. I prefer EPIC Bars to these* Sodium bomb* Price is pretty high for what you get, at over $3/bar (as of this posting)OVERALLWith cheaper and tastier alternatives available (EPIC, namely) I won't be keeping these around nor recommending. But on the whole they're a fine snack bar.

Good bars that taste better than the competition
These taste good and have good seasoning. They taste better than the leading competition, but the reason for 4 stars is because they are at least double the price. The quality you can tell is high end, so if that is worth it to you, by all means spend double. I was sent this free in exchange for an honest review, but they only sent me one when I thought they would send a box like all other free samples. Eating just one can be hard to determine a true gauge and it doesn't really give other family members a chance to try as well. I can't imagine you will be disappointed with the taste so let's go 5 stars for that and 3.5 for the price.

Protein snack
With 8 grams of protein, this makes a good snack alternative to something like a candy bar. It’s salty and somewhat spicy, but I like spicy foods so it tastes great to me. The ingredients are USDA certified organic and are Gluten-free, Nut-free, Soy-free in case you are allergic or want to avoid some of those things. I thought the bar was really tasty with a flavor similar to a spicy chicken jerky, but easier to chew and less likely to get little bits caught between your teeth. It seems like a healthy snack and a good way to avoid sugar.

A little weird
Our son has a lot of allergies, which makes it hard to get him a lot of variety. A chicken stick certainly falls under the variety option, but I find it little weird. The texture was fine, the flavor profile maybe a little spicier because of the pepper for a child. If we had to do it over again, we would stick with the beef option

Edible
This arrives individually packaged where you can see through on the back; it looks like a dog treat and not too appetizing. The expiration date has a hole through it so it is hard to know what the expiration date actually is but you can see it through the clear plastic on one side. It looks like textured processed meat. The flavor is decent and does not taste spolied. There are many 4 and 5 star choices out there but there are also worse choices because they are moldy or jaw breakers so I give these 3 stars.

good flavor but odd consistency
The flavor of the chicken bar is quite good but it was hard for us to get past the rubbery like consistency. The bars are about 3/8 " thick. They sort of resemble a dog chew. It's a shame because the flavor is good, it's organic and very low calorie but the consistency is off putting. It's not like their beef jerky. You have to try it for yourself if you can find a place to buy just one bar, but we can't recommend.

Needs taste improvement
It's organic! It's free range! It's non GMO! It's kind of tasteless. Really not much taste besides the black pepper. Really bland. Despite that, it is not dried out but somewhat juicy. At being priced at over 3 dollars a bar, I cannot see buying this regular. Nice try but needs taste improvement.
