Fox Outdoor Products Canteen Cover

As everybody else has mentioned it's a nice pliable canteen. Have owned numerous canteens over the years I can honestly say this is likely one of the best I've had the opportunity to own.The case is fleece lined to aid in moisture control and "sweating". It has both a shoulder strap and clips for a belt.For the quality received and price paid, I'll be a happy camper. (Pun included at no additional charge.)

I was looking to buy a dromedary bag for a backpacking trip when I came across this canteen bladder and cover. For the price of a 6 liter dromedary bag I was able to buy this 2 quart canteen bladder with cover and sling along with two extra bladders. I find these to be more functional and easy to use than a dromedary bag. In addition to storing water in camp, they can be carried with the sling while hiking or puttering around camp - you can't do that with a dromedary bag. I also like the insurance of splitting the 6 quarts between three containers rather than having it all in one large container. It's less likely that you'll lose all your water in the event of a gear failure. They are thinner than a standard canteen and thus are "crushable" to save space in your pack when partially full or empty. In addition to the sling there are two ALICE clips on the back for attachment to your pack or belt. The cover is insulated with a synthetic wool and can also be wet down to keep the water cool through evaporative cooling. Very functional and of high quality, this is a great piece of gear and I highly recommend it.

Perhaps I received a dud. The canteen itself is OK. However the cover has the attachment rings sewn incorrectly. They are too low on the cover which alters the center of gravity. Whether the canteen is empty or full, when suspended by the strap, it wants to flip over upside down. The strap that was included is only three foot long fully extended. I can only carry the canteen on my shoulder like a purse. The strap will not fit across my chest. My eleven year old granddaughter mocked me for purchasing such a lame item.

The media could not be loaded. Although the description states this is a bladder cover only, it does come with a canteen. This is an outstanding deal here. The pouch is heavy-duty, comes with 2 clips in the back and the shoulder strap. Picture does not do it justice, trust me. The cover is marked with US in black and although the picture does not show it, both strap and cover are a true dark OD green color and the cover is lined. The canteen itself is soft-sided, great for tactical use as you can bleed the air out to prevent sloshing (noise). The canteen cap is an M-1 style cap which means it fits your gas mask. Just clip your gas mask drinking tube in the top and you are good to go. It also functions as a regular cap for those w/out a gas mask. I am quite happy with this and just before I wrote this review I ordered 3 more. See the vid I shot for a better look.*Update* 4.11.2013 - Just recieved the 3 that I had ordered. Same canteens, same canteen covers. All came with clips and straps. All have similar markings and are in excellent condition. Very happy with this purchase. Does not include a canteen. It looks the part but is a poorly made replica

Other reviews said this came with the canteen. Mine did not. Also the stitching is horrible. It works for my needs, but still disappointing. At a more appropriate price for this poorly made Chinese item I would give it 1 star more. $8 would be a much fairer price.

Not sure what else to say, other than my title. This IS the best canteen I own or ever have. It's much lighter and more durable than older metal ones and holds more water. There are plenty of good carry options with the case as well. It has a strap for shoulder carry and the option for belt carry due to metal straps on the back. My review can't really do this canteen justice, and I will be getting another soon!

Pretty good 2 qt canteen. The one I got is marked 1995 and is of noticeably higher quality than the ones I've seen at the local army surplus store. It holds plenty of water and being soft sided can be compressed to remove all the air and eliminate sloshing for the most part.The cover is compatible with Alice and Molle gear as well as being useful as a stand alone item. The little outside pocket is big enough for a lighter or some purification tablets.The only negative is a funky plastic smell and sometimes taste. I've washed it a couple of times and it does seem to be fading so hopefully over time it will go away completely
