Ravensburger Disney Villainous: Wicked to The Core Strategy Board Game | for Ages 10 & Up | Stand-Alone & Expandable | 2019 Toy of The Year Award Winner

I'm not good at explaining game dynamics or how to play, but for those of you already familiar with the original game (the largest set with Maleficent, Captain Hook, Prince John, Ursula, Queen of Hearts, and Jafar) this is definitely a fun and worthy addition!! (And yes, you can play with this pack alone--- it's just really fun to have more characters!) Hades is either my favorite or second favorite character in the whole series. I love this game because it's really well done (very thought out, detail-rich, true to characters), and because you're not just playing to beat other players. You're focusing on your own unique objective, and I very much enjoy that aspect. It is a strategy game for sure, so it can take a few tries to remember everything for a character while also making the most advantageous moves.I've only played against Dr. Facilier, but I got annoyed because I feel like he's hard to really "harm" in the game until he gets to the step just before he wins. His Fate cards are wimpy in my opinion. My husband loves playing him cause he kept winning! lol I did give it 4 out of 5 stars for "Value for money" only because the larger, original game is the same price if not cheaper! Still worth it, I just find that strange--- even the other expansion is almost $10 cheaper on here.

This game series is a family favorite! We bought the original & first expansion played one game & fell in love with it. Then immediately ordered then next 2 expansion (one of which is this one). We also just preordered the 4th & newest edition coming out at the end of the month.Anyway tonight we played these characters & as expected they were a lot of fun. It's always cool to learn how each character is different & what it takes to win as them. The game can be gloriously fun & frustrating as you get competitive trying to screw up the other players while they attemptex to do the same to you.Learning the game: Complicated at the beginning because there is alot of information coming at you. Every character is different which means different strategies to win, some are more simple than others. Every game veries even if you play the same characters depending on how your cards play. & while your focusing on trying to win you also have to pay attention to everyone else & how they win so you can stop them from winning. Like i said there's alot. My 8 year old loves this game though the characters she's played are simpler ones & my other two want to but they aren't well enough readers.100% giftable as long as the receiver can read & strategized some.Uhm thichness I'm guessing refers to the character boards & tokens. Both of which are thick, sturdy cardboard similar to Catan if you've played that & the cards are like those from a normal card deck. It's very nice & everything is already punched out so bonus.So in my opinion, hands down, no contest or debat, buy this game & all the others if you can!

I absolutely love this game. It is deceptively complex, but fun to learn and can be "easy" if you practice and read carefully through the directions. My biggest issue right now with them is the prices. They used to be 25 dollars, but were perpetually on sale for about 15-20. Paying more than that hurts. They are also becoming harder to find, so you almost have no choice but to play the expensive prices. I totally recommend this game, especially for Disney fans, but definitely keep an eye out for sales.

I hate Disney and there are a few of these villains that I didn't know about previously. I decided to go into it with an open mind. It paid off greatly. This is a great game. It's easy to learn and to teach. There's strategy involved, but not enough to make it impossible for an 8 year old to learn. There's enough variety to make it easily replayable, and each character is well enough designed that there's not really one that's gonna kill it every time and even the more complex goals gel really quickly. All in all, it's a super fun game.

Our Family loves all things Disney and we love board games. So this was an inevitable pick. It takes a little bit to learn and get the hang of. Since every villian plays solo, it is a different mindset. We have many games, Settlers of Catan, Ticket To Ride, Pandemic, 7 Wonders, etc. This is every bit as good, but a little more convoluted to play. After we got the hang of, 2 times through, the 3rd time was very fun.. You can play a different villian every time to make it interesting and different every time.

This is a fun expansion to the original game but unlike most expansions can be used as a stand alone game for 3 players. Mix and match your favorite villians with each set of villians or pick your favorite box set. This game is fun and super easy to learn all you have to do is know how to read and comprehend. Your objective is to beat your movie specific task listed on the card for your villain before the other villians finish their tasks. Take turns moving your villain to different locations on their board to gain power and fate other players to stop them from winning. A fast, fun, and easy to play game for family night or a party. There is an age limit for a reason. Smaller kids might need help with the rules.

This game is super fun! It can me kind of confusing so you really gotta stick with it. Especially as you learn new characters, because they each have different tasks and instructions. It's super fun having all the different characters to mix and match! The artwork is so gorgeous. I've played with as many as six people and it literally takes two or more hours! With only 3-4 people, it still takes over an hour to complete. So if you don't have a lot of time to invest, then I wouldn't recommend it. But if you're a hardcore Disney fan and love board games, then this game is for you!
