this is an amazing book and I can't wait to plant my garden!
Love the spiral bound edition and ease of finding the plants. My kids just bought their first home. My daughter in law loves flowers and has a fresh bouquet on the counter weekly!! She's also an amazing cook and homemaker. Were the gardeners, my son her husband and I so we can't wait to plant the garden. As I nanny my grandson, I spend a lot of time up there and can't wait to plant roses and veggies as well as perineal like asparagus and sunflowers.

Nice Little Book
Not exactly what I was expecting but I like the book, anyhow. It has several recipes in it that I'll probably never make, though, as they all have too many ingredients...not as simple as I'd like. Also, unless you can grow your own garden, you will have to purchase flowers from a reputable distributor. (This book DOES have a 'resource' page with a list of specialty stores.)With that said, it's a cute little book with a lot of good information and beautiful photos. I leave it on my coffee table for guests to browse through......

I love this little book!
I love this little, powerhouse of a book! Not only are the photographs fabulous, but the book is spiral bound for easy use and the explanations for flower use sensible. Why use roses? This book explains why. Who eats flowers? This book explains how your garden tastes translate into delicious and talk-worthy delights. It also, very wisely, goes over the "Rules foreating edible flowers" and "What flowers are NOT edible." One wouldn't want a dining guest to go wobbly on you! I found Denise Schreiber's book to be a terrific gift to garden lovers as well as those who want to dine a bit on the "wild" side. In the middle of winter, it is a refreshing reminder of the joys of planting, growing and soon, eating season.

Pretty and tempting
Gardening is a source of endless pleasure, and with this book Denise introduces us to still another way to enjoy those flowers. "Eat Your Roses" goes way beyond dandelion wine and sauteed daylily blossoms. After certain ground rules ("do not eat flowers picked from the side of the road", )a list of toxic flowers (azaleas, hydrangeas, morning glories, etc.), and instructions for gathering and preparing flowers, Denise gives us an illustrated A to Z of edible flowers. Then comes a range of recipes. There are plenty of tips and detailed directions.

Awesome recipes/instructions and photos
I haven't made any of the recipes yet, but have tasted them years ago when I attended a local event where they were featured. The Rose Petal ice cream is decadent!

Eat Your Roses
Wonderful ideas for both eating and planting. I had some knowledge and had planted the ones I knew about. Now I can go crazy for "pretty" and appetizing food.
