Is it flame retardant? Or have a fire retardant treating?

It doesn't say that it does. For the price I would guess not and I expect it would come with such labeling if it had been treated.

How well does this work to prevent light from behind from bleeding through?

It's surprisingly thick for the price. I'm not sure how much light you'll have behind the backdrop, but for many situations this works perfectly.

It come for hang it 20 feet off the floor. But if you use clamp then you can hang in the other way.

Does it comes in role or folded? Javajunki mentioned that it comes in role but want to hear from others as well.

Mine came folded in a nice cloth case (about 18" square) that has a clear window so when you collect more colors you can quickly identify them without having to open the case.
