Excellent, QUIET fan
To try and cope with outrageously high So Cal Edison electricity bills during the heat of summer, I purchased a Lasko box fan. The reviews called it a quiet fan that cooled well and I have to assume these people were not really picky about what they felt was "quiet." I ended up returning that one because it was far too loud even on the lowest setting, and especially for the proportion of noise to air it moved. I'm thinking, though, that these are just inherent qualities of box fans.I then purchased the Rowenta pedestal fan based on numerous reviews citing how quiet it was, and just kept my fingers crossed that "quiet" actually meant "quiet."It did. This fan is QUIET (I guess I should have typed it in small letters to connote quietness). And it cools very well, even on the lowest setting. Even the first three settings are quieter than the box fan and the forth, turbo mode, is about as loud as the box fan on its lowest mode except the Rowenta moves way more air.The fan came very well packed to protect it from damage. All of the individual parts were nicely wrapped. The instructions were inside of the blade covers. I thought assembly was very easy. It took me less than ten minutes, taking my time. I know some reviewers complained about the instructions but for me the pictorial diagrams were clear and self-explanatory. Everything fit together and the build quality of this fan is excellent. Someone remarked that it is Chinese manufacturing but German pricing. If that was meant to be a slur on Chinese manufacturing, they don't know what they are talking about. The quality of this fan is good and while it is relatively high priced, I would say you get what you pay for. That box fan was $25 and this fan cost more than 3x as much with Amazon deal of the day pricing but it is well worth it.The fan is quiet, as I mentioned above, air flow is good on all levels and the controls/remote work like they are supposed to. The base is heavy which makes the fan cumbersome to move around, but it also makes for a solid foundation so it doesn't tip over or move easily. I don't think they intended for this fan to be moved all over the place. It also looks good - the finish is nice and so is the color.I'm very happy with this purchase.

After five years it's still going strong.
I've had this fan in daily, sometimes constant, use during the warmer months for just over five years, which means probably 2.5 years for someone who will use it year-round. It's been too long for me to remember assembling it, which is a common complaint in the reviews. I don't remember having any problems putting it together. The fan can be fully controlled by either the remote control or by the keypad on the fan. No problems with either method, and I think I've only replaced the remote batteries once in the five years I've had it. The base is heavy, and this fan will not tip over. It has a more solid feel than less-expensive fans.I'm not a physics major, but I'd say this fan is about as quiet as a fan can be. On the lower settings you don't even know it's on unless the room is silent. Then it's just a soft sound made by the air and not the fan. Good "white noise" in a quiet bedroom to help you sleep. Turn the fan up to the turbo setting and it's more noticeable, but still just a soft sound of the air being moved, not noise from the fan.I use the fan from about early May to about mid-October (Wisconsin, USA). The grill and blades build up a little dirt like any fan will. Twice since I've owned the fan I've taken the grills and blades off, taken them in the house and washed them off in the bathtub with soap (most likely shampoo) and a scrub brush. They look like new when I'm done, and I've had no sign of rust or other wear. When I bought this fan five years ago in June 2019 it was $118. Now, in August 2024, it's $170. That's unfortunate. However, compared to the rattling, clattering, noisy box fans I grew up with, I'd buy this fan again in a heartbeat. The rattly fans we had were so loud you had to crank the TV to hear it over the fan. This fan has no such problems.TL/DR: Great fan in every respect. Very quiet. Best fan I've ever owned. Have owned it for five years and had no problems. Money well spent, in my opinion, and I'll buy the same fan again next time I need one.

It is awesome! -There are 4 settings for speed
I ordered this fan almost exactly 1 year ago and I wanted to write a review of our experience with this product so far.-My husband loves background noise when he sleeps and gets very hot at night. We have a ceiling fan set on high but for a while before buying this product he used a travel fan and would set up the ironing board next to the bed to clip it to. I did not have a problem with this as long as he would put them away in the morning but he is very busy and works very hard so it inevitably stayed out all the time. I bought this fan to replace his setup. It is awesome!-There are 4 settings for speed. We keep it on "high." The noise level is just right. Several reviewers said it is very quiet and I was worried it wouldn't provide the background noise we needed. I understand better now what "quiet" means. It provides only the sound of air movement. The machine itself does not hum or grumble or provide any noise of its own. It does not wobble or move. It is very sturdy.-The remote control is great! We can snuggle in and get comfortable before turning it on from the remote.-The color is pretty much just as the image shows. Our bedroom is tan and aqua so it matches well but it would work with a lot of decor choices.-My only negative is that the base unit has a glowing blue light to indicate the setting you are on. At night, with all other lights on, It GLOWS very brightly. All I needed was a small strip of electrical tape to cover it (see images) and I did no dock any points from my review since it was so easy to fix.Overall, I definitely recommend this product. Quiet in the sense that it only moves the sound of air. Great color and very classy looking. Lots of speed settings. Bright light was very easy to fix. Great product!
