There are many breadboxes on offer @ Amazon & reading the reviews, it seems that most of them are fragile and poorly constructed. Not a problem with this breadbox...it is very sturdy and well put together. Mind you, it is a simple, rustic item that would have been at home in your Grandmother's farm kitchen. For us, this is perfect; for the Martha Stewart fetishist, perhaps not so much...

Beautiful

Rustic may be one word for it but to me, the pieces don't fit together well and the top is warped. Additionally, all three views of this bread box appear to be nicely finished. It is not. Just went back through the listing for this item and could find nothing saying "unfinished".
