Sounds great in my 2000 Dakota Quad Cab, but does not fit under or behind rear seats
Components installed: - One Rockford Fosgate R2S-1X10 10-inch shallow loaded enclosure - Kenwood KDC-BT555U receiver/head - Boss R1100M monoblock amp - Sirius/XM SXV-200v1 tuner - Metra single DIN faceplate kit - Metra wiring harness adapter I wanted to use a local business for this installation, but they quoted me $750 to install $250 worth of components. So I decided to order the stuff from Amazon and do it myself. I got a much better head, a better amp, the Sirius/XM tuner (not included in the quote from the local vendor) and the same subwoofer/enclosure for less than $350. It took me parts of three days to do the install, but it was fun, I learned a lot, and I do quality work (even if I do say so myself). The bottom line is, the system sounds awesome. I had already upgraded the stock Infinity speakers in the front and rear doors with a set of Boston Acoustic speakers. I did this a few years ago when the stock speakers got wet or rotted and started buzzing. This gave me a tinny sound that had very little low end. That and the fact that I could not use my iPhone with this system finally prompted me to upgrade. I had never installed an amp before and didn't have the first idea what would be required. Luckily a lot of info is available on the Internet that makes this stuff doable. The local installer had told me that this size subwoofer enclosure would fit behind the smaller driver-side rear seat in my Dakota Quad Cab, but that turned out to be incorrect. The alternative is to spend an additional $200-$300 to purchase a molded enclosure, plus the cost of the actual subwoofer. So I decided to locate the enclosure on the rear floorboard, snugged up against the middle console, facing backwards. I am still in the process of trying to decide how to anchor it there--it's dangerous to have something that heavy not properly anchored down, as it could become the source of severe head trauma in a crash. I am thinking I'll probably use some combination of velcro and home-made brackets. The one thing I have noticed is that, if it is placed directly against the back of the console, the console will not lift up and out of the way in the front seat. This is a problem for me, because that's usually where I place my Glock when I'm transporting it but want to keep it out of view.. But, from a rear-seat occupant perspective, this configuration allows two people to still ride comfortably in the back, though it does extend slightly into each occupant's knee space. It pretty much makes the middle seat unusable though, so if you need that much passenger room, you will need to spring for the molded enclosures that fits under that seat. Luckily I rarely have passengers riding in the back. The hardest thing about the install was running the 8-guage power supply from the battery through the firewall into the pax compartment. Using Internet research, I located the wiring harness grommet on the driver's side, and was able to use a coathanger to get the wire through. I pushed the coathanger through and then electrical-taped the 8-guage power supply wire to the other end of the coathanger. First time it came loose, but second attempt worked like a charm. The wiring harness kit was pretty simple. The order is Kenwood wiring harness-->adapter kit from Amazon-->factory connections in my truck. The wiring is almost idiot-proof as it is pretty much color-to-color. The only discretion involved my truck's OEM amplifier--I needed to connect its control wire and the new amp's control wire to the single P-CONT wire from the new harness. If you understand that all these wires do is turn on the amps when the radio is powered up and turn them off again when the head unit is off, it's a no-brainer to figure out you just need to wire both control wires to this same wire in the harness. To test the connections, I twisted all the wires together and electrical-taped them. Once I confirmed everything was working, I took the harnesses back into my house and soldered them and used rubber heat shrink around the soldered connections. I prefer that to the cheap crimp connectors included in the 1100 amp wiring kit I purchased at Walmart. The one thing that nearly threw me off was the amp's "Protection" light that illuminated after I cleaned everything up and put the trim back on the interior of my truck. Luckily, I was able to search the Amazon user comments and learned that an improperly grounded amp is one of the causes. Sure enough, I removed the piece of trim under which I had connected the 8-guage ground wire to the body of the truck with a screw and saw that I had jarred loose the ground wire when I snapped that piece of trim back in. My advice is, if you get a "Protection" light on this amp, check the ground wire connection before you do anything else. I am amazed at the quality of the sound. The bass is amazing and it's almost like having a new truck. I highly recommend these components.

Fits perfect in a 2022 F-150 SCREW
This review is a little long but I wanted to help others that have the same goals that I did. I have a 2022 F-150 SCREW and was disappointed with the sound from the base line non B&O 7 speaker system. First thing I did was upgrade the speakers by installing the Infinity Reference - REF-9630CX 6x9 2-Way Component System, and REF-6532IX 6.5" 2-Way Car Audio Speakers Package. The sound and clarity difference was exactly what the truck needed. I listened to this setup for about 2 months and decided the bass just wasn’t what I wanted. In my 2011 SCREW I had an under seat sealed enclosure with 2 kicker 10's and was extremely happy with it's performance. Going to this smaller single 10 inch I knew I wouldn't get the same bass but was hoping for a little thump to fill in low frequencies that the infinity reference lacked. I knew I needed a subwoofer but also wanted to retain my under-seat floor space. I did a lot of research and chose the R2S-1X10 Prime R2S Single 10 because of other user reviews. By trimming one of the seatbelt mount bolts down and removing the back wall insulation to accommodate the sub box, it does fit perfectly and still allows me to stow the seat in the full up and locking position. I powered the sub using a Skar Audio RP-350.1D Monoblock amp and fed the RCA signal using the Kicker 46KISLOC2 Speaker Wire-to-RCA Line-Out Converter. I decided to not use the converters remote on signal because the newer vehicles don’t immediately cut off power when the ignition is turned off, instead I tapped into the passenger kick panel fuse box and used fuse 2, when the ignition is turned off, and I open my door, the amp immediately turns off. I am still working on perfecting the amp adjustments but I am amazed at the amount of clean bass that comes out of that little sealed box. If you are looking for some decent bass and keeping your floor open, this little box is the real deal.

Perfect for trucks with little space
I installed this sub/enclosure in my 2005 F350. It fit perfectly behind the rear seat with the exact amount of space needed when putting the back seat down, it swings down w/o rubbing the subwoofer. I matched this sub up with the Rockford Fosgate R250-1D 300 watt amp. A perfect match and they work excellent together. No overpowering the sub and no overheating the amp, Just perfect. Lots of clean tight bass that fullfills all genres of music. Id,like to note that if your purchasing this for your 99+ f250/f350 crew cab you will need to remove the rear tray that holds the pieces for the jack and will need to cut a 19" strip out of the rear carpet piece that covers the back of the cab. There is a "buldge" on this piece that sticks out a couple inches, once cut out allows the enclosure to sit flushly against the back cab wall and allow the perfect amount of room to still swing the back of the seat(s) down. This sub/enclosure is exactly what I needed to enhance the sound in my F350! Quality item and great bang for the buck!

Awesome! Pleasantly surprised!
Normally don't write reviews but, I have to say that I'm very impressed. I didn't have high expectations for this little enclosure and was just hoping that I could "tell it was there". Installed behind the seat (not under) in a 2010 f150 screw. Had to grind a seat bolt down and cut some fabric/insulation on rear wall of the cab to make fit but it's in there nice tight and clean. Hooked the speaker wires up and Dang! This little wedge a ton more than I could have ever hoped for. A little eq tuning, bass knob, and get the power right and this thing sounds great. It's very clear, punchy, and gets low! Seems like it hits most all frequencies. Rap might bottom it out a bit but I don't have to worry about that! All other genres sound crystal clear and more than adequate low end. I am now on the Fosgate fan list. I'm super pleased and highly recommend this enclosure for tight space applications. Perfect budget friendly solution for F150 behind seat. A little work to make it fit but Holy cow it's worth it. Good job Fosgate! Again 5 stars and highly recommend. Especially for you F150 owners.

Decent, balanced 10" sub option. Great for trucks!
Pretty good sound. Not near as good as 12" subs I've had before, but that is to be expected. Pros: Slim. Great choice for a full size, standard cab pickup truck. These make an excellent addition to a factory audio system IF you integrate it correctly with a line converter and good amplifier with proper crossovers and filters. Cons: Running at max loads produces very unclear sound. This is common, but a bit disheartening from a brand like Rockford Fosgate that's been around forever. It seems to be more than maxed out with my vintage (1980s) Fosgate Punch 150 watt amp. I think the power ratings listed should be reassessed. Don't let the small negatives steer you away. It still is a great choice if you aren't wanting to rattle your neighboring car's windows.

Took forever to leave seller, but AWESOME performance for GREAT price
took 8 days to leave the seller but only 2 to get here so whatever, but its awesome, perfect for behind my 1986 F150 single cab. anyone who has one knows there is litteratly 7 inches (at its biggest point) of space behind the seat. its running off a 4oo watt amp (??? rms) but 125 bridged and im not using an ACTUAL amp wiring kit, i used a extention cord and some wires i had lying around. but even that sounds AMAZING. so im sure if some one else uses the basic 280 watt, or even 1000 watt wiring kit, it may sound better. i hope this helps. i see people pass up items like this becuae they are unsure of its performance or if there amp wll be enough to push the sub to its full potential.. this is a great buy for a decent sub at a fair price in a nice box. all in one at a very nice price

GREAT BUDGET SUB!
Yikes. Tossed this into my '65 Barracuda's trunk, wired to a "400w" (RMS is laughably lower) 2.1 channel amp from Ebay (which is powered off 12v 3a car charger!) costing $17, and this thing still somehow sounds GREAT. Heck of an improvement! The 4x6 speakers in my kick panel were faltering at delivering anything but midrange acoustic. Now, my rearview mirror vibrates with the music and I can hear - and feel - the tunes loud and clear even over highway road noise in a sixty year old car. Great choice, easy fit and quality packaging! Best $1xx I could have spent and kept some trunk space!

Blew out in 1 month with light use
I had this in my Miata for 1 month. I am a track guy, and not well versed with audio equipment. Within 1 month of use the sub was blown out. I have about 1000 miles of play time on it. It was never pushed too hard, especially since it was mounted behind my seat and did not need to be pushed hard hard to be felt. If it weren't for the sub blowing it would be 4 stars. Filled many of the missing sounds in the low end that the car lacked. Really enjoyed it while it worked. But, it still missed some tones in the bass spectrum (again, i am no expert, so i do not hold it against the product). Bought a new sub to mount in the old box. Hope it does well.
