I liked it. It was a rollicking semi-satirical look at the over-the-top ridiculousness that is modern progressive thought. Bumbling incompetent public officials, ineffectual pseudo-bully boys, and malevolent outside forces, along with a bitingly accurate look at our sitting President.I commend the author in this regard actually. While it's obvious where his sympathies lie, he's not afraid to use his unnamed (but it's obvious who it is) President to critique the current one. I have a feeling if Trump reads this book, he'll get a kick out of it.It was pretty fast-paced. Kindle said it would take about 5 hours to read - I got through it in 4.It's also a rather sobering look at the specter of secession. I'll be honest, I wouldn't mind at all if California left the Union. The balance of power would shift and the progressives in this country would be without their weighty linchpin. However, with all actions there's a reaction. The author brilliantly demonstrates that an independent California, no matter how embattled it would be, would have the rights of any other independent nation to ink alliances with whomever it damn well pleased. The one thing I couldn't get around was the formatting and seeming lack of real proofreading in the novel. The author explains the formatting in the preface, but I didn't really get it. Also there were plenty of spelling and grammatical errors - "Our Loved Country" instead of "Our Beloved Country", that sort of thing. However, don't let that distract you from a good story. Conservatives will enjoy this since it plays right into their preferences and fantasies, and I suppose the few progressives out there who can laugh at themselves will get a kick out of it as well. Can't wait to check out the sequel next week.

Great book out of the headlines!!
Ok first off if your a liberal dont buy this book . If you are not a liberal then you most likely will like this book. CA decided to break away after Trump (not named in the book) wins the election. The first book is is just the warm up to the war that is building into WW III and the 2nd Civil War. Can't wait for the second book. If Seattle helps CA please MR. Tabankin feel free to nuke them or hang them for treason!!!

Clunky writing with facts somewhat messed up, but the concept is plausible
The concept is interesting and the author is an anti-PC conservative. It is too bad his writing skills are lacking. His stilted format and even more stilted conversations of the characters makes anyone who is fairly knowledgeable in the English language cringe. His constant mistakes with sayings and terms is also embarrassing. For example calling the Electoral College the "electrical "college demonstrates the kind of errors you will find throughout his writing. Whether an error of spell correction software or he actually thinks that is what it is called, the error is embarrassing for the guy. "bearing it all" instead of "baring it all" (transparency) is another example.Read it for the concept. His distortions aside, the concept is interesting and somewhat plausible.

Too much corny nonsense
Too much corny nonsense. I do like his ideas, but his follow through is childish, the antagonists are morons, and the good guys (mainly white republicans) are super soldier's with hearts of gold. Though he does have good ideas....

Fun read!!
Very fast read, entertaining. Can't wait for the next installment. Not very PC as the author warns. :)I live not too far away from Yuba City which makes this even more fun.

Good story and the author keeps you interested
Was a blast. Fast moving and as the author says it's not politically correct. Kindle version has some spelling mistakes but for the price, so what. Good story and the author keeps you interested.

Two Stars
Poorly written, lots of typos and a story line that drags. I couldn't get into it.

Non-PC Political Satire. I like it
Not the best writing in the world but wildly amusing romp into political satire underpinning a thriller. The liberal elite knocking is so funny......Keep writing, I'll keep buying.
