NU-SET Water Faucet Lock - Key Lock, Chrome, Rubber Material, Fits 3/4-Inch Garden Hose Bib

One of our family members has a serious water thief problem -- her neighbor stole over $800 worth of water a few months ago while she was out of town, although it was impossible to prove to try to prosecute the lowlife. I ordered these to put on her outside faucets, plus a couple for my own home. This device is both simple and effective -- it comes with a screw-on plastic cap, which does have a washer in it to prevent leaks if the water is turned on with the lock installed. I tested the effectiveness of the cap and with the water turned on full force not a drip came out. The second component of this gizmo is a metal security mechanism that opens up and closed across the threads of the hose bib (after you install the screw-on cap). It does NOT come with a lock -- you'll need to make a run to the store for that (or purchase one here on Amazon separately).This device is a good deterrent, but like all of these things not a total prevention device. If someone is really intent on stealing your water they're probably going to break the lock you put on it, or possibly use a power tool to try to saw off the locking mechanism. The best way to prevent water theft is to turn off the valve servicing the outside hose bib -- although many newer homes don't have these secondary valves anymore, which means you'd have to turn off ALL the water going to your house to stop the theft.

It fit perfectly and is enough to keep our landscapers from using ONLY our water. We have a lot of neighbors who are home throughout the day and very protective with their property. I think knowing this, the landscapers/painters/and any other construction people started to take advantage of only OUR water for everyones properties. I was home for a good month and saw this happening, even when working on other town homes on the other end. Water does leak from it but no one will have the patience to wait for it to fill a bucket and cant hook it up to anything either so this works perfectly. Very good price and pretty sturdy too.

Make sure you get the right fit or the lock will not work. Otherwise, this is a great product.

This item fit my remote spigot perfectly. I have a water line run to a remote location. I have a neighbor who doesn't have any utilities, electric or water. He has been caught stealing fuel from another neighbor, as well as water. I needed this to prevent the possibility of him stealing water from my system. This fixed the issue with the addition of a cut resistant lock. I found it easy to install and it is rust resistant because it is made of aluminum. The build quality is comparable to other products. I was really impressed by the price.

I purchased this lock for our front faucet to keep our kids from using the water without adult supervision. I had another faucet lock with a built-in lock which failed.This lock arrived quickly. It seems solid, and was easy to install. I used a combo lock. With the rubber seal in place and the cap screwed on tight, no water comes out if I turn on the faucet.

I have an unattended garden lot to which we added water service. This water faucet lock works simply and effectively. It includes a little plastic cap that screws on to the spigot--like putting a plastic cap on a milk jug. The cap has a washer so it fits tightly against the faucet and no water leaks at all when the faucet is turned on full strength. The metal cover closes like a little jaw around the cap. You must supply your own small padlock. Very satisfied with this purchase. Exactly what I was looking for.

It looks good, it's simple, and it didn't fit either one of my outdoor facets, I have Woodford faucets and it didn't close, so no lock would fit. Maybe it will work on a different type of facuet. I did like how the bottom closes off

Bought it to keep my neighbor from using my hose and it succeeded. Feels cheap but it is not very high-quality. I have had it on for over a year and it still looks new.
