Perfect match for big Cerwin Vegas. Brings the music to life!
So, I gave these a brief test today, on my main system. My main system isn't vintage, but it's rocking a pair of Cerwin Vega VS-150s, which are actually the perfect speaker for this test. My amp in this setup is a Yaqin MC-100B tube amplifier, running Tung Sol KT-120 power tubes for a punchier bottom end. No tone controls. Source is a Phase Linear PL8000 linear tracking turntable (same as Pioneer L1000, but in silver), connected to a Yaqin MS-12B tube phono stage (mullard repro tubes). Hooked to that are my VS-150 Vegas, and I paralleled the new tweeters with the Vegas. These tweeters are a VERY good match for these big Vegas. The tweeters are very efficient, which means they're very loud. They're almost a perfect match for the Vegas as-is, however. I might try a resistor or an L-pad to turn them down just a tad. Maybe 2db at most, but if you have less efficient speakers (Vegas are 102db) you'll definitely want an L-pad to adjust them down. Now the sound... Vegas are not known for their clarity. The VS series had the best tweeters, but they're still not detailed. These tweeters fix that completely. Cymbals sound amazing, and the music was bouncing all over my room. I tested with one of my favorite recordings (the new Daft Punk album), and my ears were perking up with all the new stuff I was hearing -- or old stuff heard in a new way. The sound stage expanded enormously (again not a strong point of the Vegas). The big difference is after i listened to one whole side of the album, I listened to it again, but this time without the tweeters. It sounded flat and lifeless in comparison, like I was missing half the music. THAT sold me on these tweeters. After one listen, I can't stand not having them paralleled to my Vegas. Even if they do need a bit of tweaking, it's really not much, and they're very livable as-is. Only downside is I can hear a LOT more surface noise. Grumble. Time to buy a record cleaner.

Awesome Sound
I have a pair of Elac Debut 6.2 Bookshelf speakers and they sound good but was lack the highs. So I went on line to Amazon and I found the Super Tweeters I was looking for , and let me say they are heavy with their 20 Oz. magnet ( no cheap plastic tweeter ) these are heavy , they look great sitting on the top of my speakers the power and sound is awesome especially with my Sub woofer. I now have to keep my treble on my Yamaha Amp only half way and make few adjustments with my Teac EQA -30 Equalizer. The price was fantastic too. And I have a pair of Polk Monitor 40 Series II they work well with them too. You want more highs with your speakers and don't want to spend a ton of money buy these. Steve

What hearing loss?
I don't care to wear my hearing aids often. The sound quality I experience without them leaves more to wish for though. I had the idea for a long time to add a pair of tweeters to my sound system- which is simpy a mini amp powering an old pair of Onkyo speakers. I use the sound for a projector. There's lots of good word here in the reviews on the pyramid super tweeters. I thought I'd see for myself - especially since they are budget friendly. Well, I opened the box a couple of hours ago and have them placed on the outsides of my Onkyos. The difference is extreme. I suddenly hear the high frequencies, voices, and all other instrument sounds. And the stereo separation - its like I forgot what it was all about. The sound quality now leaves nothing left to desire. Thank you Pyramid.

OK tweeter
These are a OK cheap tweeters. There reason for 3* stars is simple:_I don't like when specifications are misrepresented to gain sale. First they are really 3.3 Ohm measured at terminals past the capacitors. Second the only ferrofluid enhancing you will find on them is when you DIY it on your own. I took both apart and the gap between dome coil and magnet is dry and no sign of rusty and dark ferrofluid ever. The reason why they sound so "good" to untrained ear is low impedience. With that said all above can be addressed on you own. Basically this is a nice and CHEAP raw material starter set...:) I am not sure about using them in a car since I am 100% sure that attachment point to the base will give up very quickly. Ok i have been using these for several months now. To fully match them with my 3 way floor standing speaker i have installed 6 db L-pad on each consisting of 1 each 4 Ohm , 10 watt ceramic resistor in parallel and 1 each 2 Ohm , 10 watt resistor in series. Moreover I installed a total of 12.7 uf each of non-polar capacitors (elna ) . As a result i got close to original crossover frequency of the 3-way speaker tweeter crossover. As a result these will not overdrive or step out of the line. Percussion platters , bells, vocals are really well defined - w/o any distortion, increase in soundstage. Again it only took 3 months of trial/error and about equal amount ($) per tweeter in parts to make them sound good. These were meant to be a lesson/ test for me to improve upon my current system, after which I wanted to get more expensive tweeters. In the end I decided to leave them in permanently . Be ware ! your results may vary depending on your ear and your system. I listen to vinyl+ Bi- amped AudioLab amplification + B&W 3 way speakers

No over heating problems
Twitter is of great quality. Great to use in a sound system. Bought it for a Honda, works well with the wiring had no over heating problems. Over all worth the price!

Excellent high frequency response.
I had 2 Sterling MX8 8 inch studio monitor. One of the monitor's amp burned. So I decided to convert these 2 powered studio monitor into passive monitor/bookshelf speaker. So I removed all the internal power supply and amp components. Bought Fosi Audio BT20A Pro external Amplifier. After some modification both are become ready to play. But the tweeter of those speakers refused to accept such a high power from the fosi audio external amp. as A a result built in tweeter gone, I mean burned. Finally I bought these Pyramid 300 external tweeter. Got very fast delivery, connected and started playing. Then??? Then just wow!!!! now I am getting lot more flexibility, lot better listening.

Nice sound

Awesome for the money .. simply 5stars from me.. versatile and great addition to a system .. be nice to have a controller inbetween to modulate but I just faced them towards the wall rather than facing out and it dialled them in nicely with rest of speakers and end sound. Won't hesitate to buy another pair

Received on September 28, 2022 these Pyramid TW28 bullet horn tweeters, I used them in compliment with my solarium full range speakers. The tweeters connected internally to the 150 watts network crossover that deliver the high frequency to the tweeter. If wired correctly the tweeter produces very clean and distinctive highs that will improve the sound quality of your full range speakers. I do like them it is my third pair. I do recommend these tweeters to anyone that may be thinking of purchasing them.

Suenan muy bien, pero hay que ponerle sus capacitores no polarizados de 2.2uF
