Air King9314 14-Inch Industrial Grade High Velocity Multi Mount Fan,Black

The fan provides superior circulation and cooling for a room size of 10' x 15' w/ 9' Ceilings! The fan is mounted to the ceiling truss near the corner of the entrance to an office room and angled downward at about 45° degrees, diagonal from the opposite corner. The office is located in a historical building on a second floor with limited electrical outlets and amperage; nestled between two adjoining rooms, sealing off outside breezes, leaving only a window facing north to receive air (mostly warmer air without a breeze). Previously, the room was inadequately cooled only by a portable A/C unit with a low temperature of 62° degrees with minimal airway leading from the hallway to the room entrance. The addition of the fan solved the stale and stagnant air and makes for a comfortable environment at any time of the day with or without the entrance door open. A 15' surge protector and extension chord was mounted to the trim molding along the perimeter near the ceiling from the opposite wall where the electrical outlet is located. The fan comes equipped with a 9' chord combining for a total of 24' feet, spanning from wall-to-wall, including two alcoves divided by a closet. A maximum of three appliances are running at any given time without tripping the breaker. A 12" chain link was added to the standard 3" factory chain, combining for about 15" of length, resting at about 24" inches from the 9' ceiling; enabling for easy reach to adjust the three variable speeds or to turn off. Side note: the original order was received with a slightly bent mounting bracket (yoke) and a paint chip at the mounting hole of the bracket (likely a rare situation). The fan was scheduled to be installed by the next day; Amazon shipped a new product for next day arrival and sent a courier service to retrieve the original order the same day ---- outstanding customer service!

We mounted this fan on the garage wall in front of our treadmill. It looks nostalgic, it doesn’t rattle and provides plenty of airflow on the low setting to keep cool during a workout.

Update Feb. 2022: These are great barn fans! The first one we installed over 9 years ago finally started making concerning noises so we replaced it. We always have a backup on hand.Update June 2016: We have two of these fans in our barn. One is three and and the other is four years old. They run all day long from May through September. They have been great for us!Update: We have had this fan for over two years and it is working great. We liked it so much, we bought another one.Original review: We have only had this fan for about a month but so far we are very pleased with it. We use a fan in our barn to give the horses a cool place to come into during really hot days (of which we are having many so far this summer!). For years we used an inexpensive box fan that we picked up a big name home improvement store. That worked fine, but this spring it shorted out. Fortunately we were in the barn when it happened and we unplugged it quickly, but it could have caused a fire. We know that all the dust that is inherent in a barn was responsible, so we did the right thing and bought a fan with a sealed motor. We hung this new fan from the rafters in the barn where it is out of the way but it is low enough for us to reach up and adjust the angle and pull on the chain. It is quiet and moves a lot of air.

3 Speed levels are hardly different. But seems solid with quality parts

Very impressive high quality currently have 3 of them and would recommend them to anyone in search of highly commercial quality and run quietly and smooth with no annoying turbulence .The model 9312 ,9314 and 6 inch clip on are some of the models I am currently using for many purposes .I searched fans hi and low and found the air king to be the highest quality in every way .I like the classic simplicity of the fan s operation simple clicks of the chain to power on and off the clock also setting each speed with the pull and click of the chain setting on the 9312 model and 9314 model .Great for spot cooling your targeted area these have good directional force felt from over 10 feet away outside .I wouldn’t even consider anything other than Air King these fans never seem to disappoint.

Product was as described. Full metal construction and well built.

A lot less noisy than my old Honeywell commercial fan that had put in a bedroom window to cool room at night.Better than noisy air conditioner that would cycle on and off wake me up and and would not cool below 70 degrees. This fan drops the temperature to almost the outside night temperature at 57 degrees . I use a dual indoor/ outdoor thermometer to tell when the outside air is cooler than inside air and turn fan on. A bit noisy on the highest setting , but on low masks other sounds and helps me sleep.

Put in my 1.5 car garage, it really works good

This is a really good, high quality fan - bigger than you might think - mounting bracket takes up a lot of front to back space, so take this in to account. I got this on sale ($124 vs $175) So I am happy. However my unit is probably a factory second - two of the protective wires on the front fan cage were broken ( out of the box) - not a big deal, given where I have installed it. Buyer beware though. This is not stated in the item description - if you are looking for perfect you might be disappointed

I'm very happy with this fan. Using it to circulate air in a 1.5 car garage. Construction is solid and simple. Blows with lots of power (even the low setting). Doesn't rattle or wobble.
