The louvres were the right size so I did not have to replace the entire unit.

Couldn't find this anywhere, so Thank-You Amazon. Mine cracked, needed to replace, this one fit over the old one perfectly. I did not remove the old one completely, just the broken louvers. I attached this one on top of the other, and it fits perfectly that way. If I removed the other, it did not fit inside the space. The screws line up perfectly, to attach on top of the other. It looks nice, works well.

Product was good and delivery was quick. Unfortunately the item did not fit what I needed to do and therefore it was returned.

The plastic is sturdy and durable and the louvers flap easily with no resistance when the dryer is in use.This is a good choice if you're looking to do a low-maintenance replacement of an existing hood vent, especially if, like me, your current vent is an all-in-one unit connected to a tailpipe inside the wall.In my case there was no reason whatsoever to replace the tailpipe. All that was worn out were the louvers on the existing hood vent. So, I left all but the old louvers in place (they can be removed easily … just pluck them out and discard). Then, I installed this vent hood (It's just a frame) directly over the outer frame of the existing one. The mounting holes lined up perfectly, so I didn't even have to drill new mounts. I just removed the screws from the existing vent frame, then reused them to attach this hood frame directly over it. The Speedi-Products frame is so slim that the resulting protrusion isn't noticeable.Repair completed in less than 30 minutes and it looks and functions great.Please note: For those conducting new installations of vent hoods, I wouldn't recommend this for that purpose. There are much better choices out there for new installations. Keep looking.
