Minimum volume isn't quiet enough [er, so I thought]
UPDATE: I discovered that the minimum volume issue was actually an iOS thing - playing from Alexa gives me MUCH better volume control, including very low minimums, as low as I'd ever want. And in the last few days that I have used these speakers I have absolutely loved them. I heard things in songs I've never heard before, even outdoors. As a side note, I discovered you can link your Apple music to Alexa, so now I can get the best of both worlds by playing my apple music through an Echo device connected to the speakers. So great job Amazon - Apple, step it up, Alexa is kicking Siri's butt (and that's coming from a big Apple fan boy). And as another side note that means I pretty much can just leave that Echo always connected all the time and don't have to hear the annoying (and still super loud) "CONNECTED" and "PAIRING" voice every time I use the speakers. Also - a lot of the bluetooth speakers out there that come in pairs (no pun intended) say they are stereo, when in reality both channels are simply duplicated (or are just mono) to the second speaker. These are truly stereo, giving you true left channel on one speaker and right channel on the other, which is awesome. So when listening to Bohemian Rhapsody you get that nice "little high" completely on one speaker, and the following "little low" on the other. Of course, that's just a simple example. Having a true stereo experience for many songs makes a huge difference in the quality and listening experience.Original review:Overall the sound quality of these is great for the money. However there is one flaw, at least in the way I'm using them, that I never anticipated: they don't go quiet enough. When it's late at night and all is quiet, these just don't go quiet enough to sit on the deck or in a hot tub and have background music that you can still have a conversation over, unless you decide to have that conversation a good 25 feet or more away from the speakers. The music is loud enough that it's competing with regular conversation. When controlling the volume from a Bluetooth connected device, the volume completely cuts out when you still have two or three more incremental levels to decrease volume. And the lowest the speakers will go before being completely off is just too loud. I thought I'd be worried about them not being loud enough, never considered they wouldn't be quiet enough. Where they don't have an independent volume control, there's just nothing you can do about it. The music is either off or too loud. Along these same lines, when you disconnect, the speakers will announce that they are now in pairing modeIn a REALLY loud voice, regardless of what the volume of your device was when disconnecting. So after that nice quiet (but not quiet enough) evening experience on the deck with background music, the "Bluetooth lady" shouts PAIRING!!!! at you as you head inside.Party on the deck or just working or chilling outside? These are great. The sound quality is clear at low to mid volume (not just loud bass, but clean lows, mid ranges, and highs). I've found that the "rock" preset in the Apple EQ settings on an iPhone give a really nice sound with these. The sound is a little muddier at high volumes, but it does go louder than I expected and still exceeds my expectations in quality for this price range.I'm going to have to experiment with putting these further away than where I wanted from where those night time quiet deck moments tend to happen, just to get the volume down.

Very good value. Sound great.
I ordered the Sound Appeal BT-Blast 6.5 inch speakers and received them in only 3 days, sooner than promised. Well packaged and none of the parts were missing. Because I didn't have electric in a convenient place I had an electrician install an outlet to plug the power adapter into. I also had him install a wall switch so I can turn off the speakers when not listening (the only way to turn them off otherwise is via the switch on the back of the powered speaker.) I mounted the speakers about 8 feet apart with the easy-to-install brackets which I just screwed into the eves so the speakers would be mostly out of the rain. The passive speaker is connected to the powered speaker via the supplied speaker wire. I chose to run the wire through a plastic pipe, which I then painted to match the house and it ended up looking pretty good. I mounted the power adapter, which has 4 screw holes, next to the powered speaker, then simply plugged it into the outlet and turned on the wall switch. Presto. The speaker greets you with a woman saying "power on" and a small blue LED light. They paired easily with both my Samsung S8 phone and my Samsung Galaxy Tab.Right out of the box BT-Blasts sounded a little tinny and boomy, and the midrange was pretty weak. After an hour though they really broke in and the tinny boomyness was replaced by pretty decent sound. Midrange was more pronounced and vocals sounded clear and crisp. Bass is not muddled and is fairly deep for a small speaker, especially in this price range. At higher volume the tweeters get a little tinny still, but at medium volume they sound fine.I am really happy with this system. It's not audiophile by any means, but if you want something that gives stereo sound, like this one does, with a minimum of hassle, this is a good choice.

Great speakers, pair easily, work without a hitch up to 50 feet - UPDATE
My goal was to use bluetooth speakers for an outdoor theater setup that would allow me to keep the speakers at the base of the screen without having to run speaker cable from the receiver that was roughly 20 feet away. These speakers did the trick with a respectable amount of base as well as a surprising amount of clarity in the midrange. To get the job done for an outdoor theater:- Blu-ray or DVD player- Stereo amp or multi-channel receiver- Miccus Home RTX bluetooth transmitter- Video projector- Bluetooth speakers- Mini to RCA Y adaptorYou'l need a bluetooth transmitter to send the audio signal to the speakers and after reading numerous reviews I opted for the Miccus Home RTX which can both transmit and receive. The transmitter will not connect to the speaker terminals on an amp so you'll need to use a mini to RCA Y adaptor to connect the Miccus to the headphone jack of your receiver (and you'll probably need a mini to stereo phone jack adaptor for the receiver or amp as well). Once the speakers pair with the Miccus you're good to go.A great pair of speakers that are well worth the price.UPDATE: Still happy with these speakers but it should be noted that after spending a bit more time with them paired with the Miccus transmitter there is a slight lag in audio which results in noticeable 'lip flap' when watching movies. This will bother some people more than others so it's worth noting.
