Well built with a good sound
Bluetooth 32GB MP3 PlayerWhen this arrived I was surprised by it's weight compared to it's compact size, it's really quite weighty for such a small device. It's almost as heavy as my mobile phone yet it's less than half the size - This is a serious bit of kit, nothing cheap and hasty about this! The player is supplied packaged within a strong attractive looking box. It comes complete with silicon in ear earbuds, charge cable, 3.5mm audio cable, water resistant velcro wristband and a nice strong water resistant drawstring bag. The supplied manual is quite comprehensive but the translation is not very good, in fact it should be re-written, as on the first page it says 'not to keep this away from strong magnetic fields' where in fact it should state the opposite as magnetism could wipe your memory if strong enough. That being said this really is a nice little device, it has many useful features. The feature that I like most is that it supports many audio formats including lossless, one in particular is wav format. I record and produce my own music in wav format, often I have to compress it down to mp3 so that it's compatible with other players. No such issues here as I can listen to my music as I recorded it. The supported formats are - MP3, WMA, APE, FLAC, WAV, AAC-LC, ACELP AND OGG.This has a generous 32GB storage which is a good amount of storage capacity even for the large wav files that I prefer to use, if you are using MP3s then it has capacity for literally thousands of tracks. If 32GB is not enough for you it has a micro SD slot built in so you can add even more memory up to a massive additional 128GB.This has blue-tooth support built in so if you don't wish to use the provided ear-buds then you can connect your own favourite listening device to this. I found connectivity good, this paired with my blue-tooth headphones quickly and without issue. This does have an inbuilt speaker but the sound quality of that is not great, to be honest I don't think the speaker is designed for listening to music, probably more for your own voice recordings? This device itself appears to be made from metal hence it's weight, it does appear to be well made and is very solid indeed. The small display area on the screen does not have a touch area, instead you navigate and select via seven buttons on the lower part of the screen which are indeed touch operated. The player is well designed and easy to learn, it has many functions but navigation is logical and easy to work out.On the right-hand side of the player you have two multi function chromed buttons which affect the volume, turn on the mic for recording, and turn the device on or off. On the left-hand side is a chromed button which slides to lock the device. On the top left of the device is a fairly large rectangular hole, which I can only guess is to attach a lanyard? I can find no reference to this in the manual, there is no lanyard included so maybe it has a different function? This is primarily a music player but has many other inbuilt features. Firstly this supports high quality Lossless music playback, it will record your voice or from the line in (3.5mm stereo cable is provided). This has an FM radio function built in although I haven't been able to test that out fully as we live in a very hilly region where radio reception is poor. You can store and view photos, this will support JPEG, BMP and GIF image files. The manual mentions video support for AMV and AVI video although I haven't tried this out. This also has text reading support, you can load ebooks onto the device although you will need good eyesight to read them due to it's small display size. This has a clock feature along with alarm, stop watch, also a built in calendar.A more useful function is the built in pedometer. The device will slip into the supplied water resistant armband, you can attach it around your arm. It will record the following information - step number, distance, calories, speed and time. This will keep a record of your activity, I've not really used this feature much myself but it seems it keeps 3 separate records of activity. You can still listen to your music whilst using the pedometer. I do feel the armband could be a little larger, I have large upper arms and it fits me on the maximum setting with a little room to spare but if you are large and are into body building it may be a problem. But having said that, for most people it will be just fine. If it were found to be a little small I'm sure it could easily be extended with a piece of extra velcro strap? To be honest I'm very pleased with this. For me it's main strength is in it's ability to play high quality lossless audio, it also supports many various audio formats. This does have it's own in built battery which seems to charge quickly and last a decent length of time. The sound quality is pretty good using the supplied ear-buds, they do have a decent sound out of the box. You can hear good detail, the sound is crisp and clear with a good bass that is not so low that it becomes muddy. This does have an inbuilt graphic equaliser, so with a few tweaks I had the sound where I wanted it. It sounds even better when I attach my favourite blue-tooth headphones. But really, for daily use on the go the supplied ear-buds do a good job. As mentioned before, the manual is well laid out with plenty of pictures and instruction but the translation is pretty poor, you can make sense of it but it can be a little baffling at times. The device navigation is logical and well designed so once you know what the device is capable of you can work it out quite quickly by just using it.I must admit I do love this little device and highly recommend it!Box Contents -1 x MP3 Player1 x Soft drawstring carry bag1 x Velcro wrist strap1 x Ear-bud headphones1 x 3.5mm stereo audio cable1 x Micro USB to USB charging cable1 x User ManualIf you have found my review at all helpful I would very much appreciate if you could click the 'Helpful' button below, thank you.

Over-under-engineering at its finest
This product has several qualities that make it a nice little piece. It’s very compact, but has a nice weight to it. It doesn’t feel flimsy, and the touch buttons are responsive. The interface is easy to navigate, and I’m yet to come across any bad translations. In my brief time testing this device, everything works, but I haven’t tested images, videos or e-books on this device. And herein lies the problem! This device is over-engineered. The screen is far too low-pixel for any real enjoyment of images or videos, unless you wondered what your favourite videos would look like if they were low-quality, grainy and on a tiny screen. If they had focused on just the music, radio and dictaphone aspects of this device it would be wonderful. The screen doesn’t show up well in sunlight and any e-books will only display a few lines of text at a time. I would not recommend reading war and peace on this device as you will do yourself damage. Still, I can’t mark down too harshly for a device having extra features I can’t use. This being said, the OS is clunky, especially when concerning the Lock feature. When locking or unlocking the device, an animation plays painfully slowly, during which all inputs are disabled. Want to turn the volume up a bit? That’s going to take several seconds longer. The animation is superfluous and can/should be replaced altogether with a single icon, unless the “lock/unlock” logic is so poorly coded that the animation is meant to conceal the inability to do inputs. Another problem is the button layout. Why is the OK button not in the centre of the directional buttons, like every other device ever? I find myself constantly pressing the menu button during navigation when I meant to click OK. It’s a small niggle but it’s indicative of the device as a whole.Still, it does the job it was meant to do, but at this price point there are a lot of other devices you could be getting, especially when most modern phones offer the same features as this device.
