For those confused (I was too) about the locking mechanism, see photo. Pull down on section below the arrow until the button pops out at which point the internal cables will tension the lower sections, final height is set with top section and the external cam lock. Weight for pole without rubber tip or that disc thingy is 8.4 ounces / 238 grams. I'll update my review after a few hikes if there's any disappointments or failures. 5 stars until proven guilty but I'm not sure how to review it, it's a glorified stick.

This was useless. There are aspects I really like -- lightweight, shortens to fit in my suitcase -- BUT: there is no way that I (or my engineer husband) can figure out to make it stay at full length. There are no instructions of any kind. There is a web site I went to for help -- and everything is in Chinese. Needs to be returned.

This seemed like a great product in many respects, but I could NOT figure out how to lock it in place once I had extended it. It did not come with instructions, and the email address for assistance given on the tag was a bogus address. I returned this item.

First, it only comes with one pole. I didn't read that, my mistake. However, the rubber feet aren't durable at all. Not even halfway up to the Vernal Falls viewing bridge on the mist trail in Yosemite, the metal tip broke through the river footing after less than .8 miles. And the grips aren't comfortable.

Good poles for cheap. Light, easy to use. Survived 40 miles of hiking so far.

Seems to work well...mostly have it for those muddy hikes, so it works good for the mud

I got this as a gift for my mom because she loves to hike and she goes out on a lot of trails that have uneven gravel and go up and downhill. It’s very sturdy and durable, but is also easy to fold up and put away. She says it’s really come in handy for her and she loves that it’s so easy to use.
