A fun - if unsettling - spin through a "light novel" series.
This trilogy was a entertaining twist on the usual "I'm trapped in a videogame" genre. The idea that a player would be forced to be reliant on a character of the opposite gender was novel, and had me smirking, at first. Then it had me thoughtful. There's a lot of transgender will fulfillment here, but it also makes you wonder - would YOU be willing to go to the lengths that the hero Kromgorn went to? Conforming to the expectations of Lacey, a character that had been written to be nothing but a sexual toy, albeit a powerful one? I have to admit that I wouldn't. I'd just hide out and let someone else solve the problem. The protagonist didn't. And came out quite changed from the experience. If you don't like novels with transgender themes, you probably won't like this one. If you don't mind them, or if you enjoy them, the fantasy and adventure as Kromgorm, Jazzus and their comrades fight for their lives against a lunatic trying to turn their game into his personal sadistic playground will have you turning pages all the way to the end.I know that if there's a sequel planned for this trilogy, I'm interested in reading it! I certainly had fun with the first three novels!I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Interesting twist on online gaming
I wasn't sure about this book but I certainly enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. First, I'm not much of a gamer. I've done enough to understand the concepts presented in this futuristic and realistic version of an online fantasy adventure. These characters really get to play out in this fantasy land, including having and virtually experiencing battles as well as sex. The author makes the characters real and makes the story interesting enough to keep even the novice gamer like me interested. Getting trapped in the game is certainly an interesting concept and it was fun seeing how these characters acquired and used their skills. The other concern I had is when a man plays as a woman. In this case, the first person Kromgorn exits the game and then re-enters as the sexy Lacey whose main purpose is to be a prostitute. The main way she can improve her skills is by having sex with other people, mostly men. I'm not into gay sex but in this case, it did not come across as that and I had no issues. The sex is graphic but this is a real story, not just erotica.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Sexy and silly RPG fun
Trapped in the game by an evil player, our hero not only has to defeat the bad guy, but he has to do it as a girl character whose only real power is her sex appeal. This was an interesting story a little outside of my usual genres. I read epic fantasy, but usually avoid gamerlit as I don't care for the intrusion of game mechanics like levels and stats. And gender swap is also not something I usually seek out. That being said, I found this one quite enjoyable. The story is told entirely from the perspective of the player, not the character, so the technical speak fits. It will still sound like non-sense to non-gamers, but it is appropriate to the story. And the rest is just silly and sexy at the same time. The story is very well written, with a solid plot and well developed characters (in multiple ways as it were). If you are looking for something a little different with plenty of sex and humor, give this one a try.Recommended.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout for review purposes.

A fun read even for a non-gamer
I'm not a gamer, but I've got to say I really enjoyed this book. Yes, there are the stats that you see in this kind of book, but first and foremost the story is plot driven. You've got the usual gender transformations that you expect in an Alyson Belle book, but that's worked nicely into the story, which develops at an accelerating pace as you get into the book. You'll see a good description of the plot in the book blurb. I'm not going to give anything away, except to say that if you start to read this book, I think you'll have a hard time putting it down. Enjoy!

Funny, steamy and and action packed
Like the other Alyson Belle books I've read, this is, of course, a gender swapping book. Unlike the other ones, this had a lot less of a romantic aspect included. The world is entirely set in a mmorpg game and the main character gets stuck in a character he/she never wanted to play. Leveling up as a Courtesan is quite different than other character builds. Throw in stakes that threaten the characters in real life and a sociopathic villain and you get a thrilling race to the final battle.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Fun, adult LitRPG
This was my first read by this author. I enjoyed the plotline of the story, and it was fun to watch the way Krom-Lacey learned to use his/her - um - skills to advance in the game. I'm not a gamer, but I didn't find the game stats to be distracting. Fortunately they were not overdone. I enjoyed this action-adventure fantasy and the challenges faced by the players.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
