Wire Stripper Gauge

The good :This thingy is a dream come true...Makes for an excellent workflow. This + the stipper become a tool that fits nicely in one hand leaving the other to feed the wire in for cut/strip.The bad :Its made of plastic not metal. The pics and the price can mislead you to expect a metal thing.The price is the biggest bad about this thing. We agree this is a neat and innovative product which mankind forgot to invent long back, but $20 is a bit too much to charge for that. Either this should cost $5-6 or it should be made of metal for current price.The other small con is that the engraved markings can be hard to read. And the length scale is not numbered.Fortunately, both these issues are easily solved with colored permanent marker.

Really handy for building up a board; probably not needed for stripping a wire or two. It clamps on to one jaw of your wire-stripper. It's really quick to strip a bunch of wires to length with consistent stripped ends, and the built in bending tool makes (well, helps you make) perfect 90 deg bends so your projects look neater than they did with stripping and bending by eye.

I like it, and it does what it's intended for, but some of the marking are a little confusing, and there are no detailed instructions.

Simply put, it works exactly how the manufacturer intended it to work. It clamps securely to the wire stripper and I never had an issue with it slipping off. I've even dropped the wire stripper while the gauge was attached and it didn't budge at all. The measurements on the long end match up to the spacing on a breadboard. The tool pays for itself by the amount of time you save by using it.
