Project Genius: Deblockle- The Game of Tips and Turns, 2 Player Strategy Game, Game for Families and Adults, Ages 8+, Solid Wood Based Board and Blocks

Found this at a board game cafe and bought for ourselves - love the game itself (well made, good quality) and the gameplay!

My spouse and I have been looking for a quick strategy game to play while we listen to our audiobooks together. Nothing too complex because we’ll miss the plot of the story. Nothing too simple because we’ll get bored. Nothing that requires too much talking because again, it’ll take away from the story. And nothing that works alright for two players but is much better with 3 or 4. We’d been playing uno which was fine, but not engaging enough.This game fits our needs perfectly.Not only does it look gorgeous, but it only took a few minutes to learn and the games last about 5-10 mins max. It’s infinitely replayable because of the randomness of the first roll and it’s a great mix of skill/strategy and luck. We own literally dozens of games and this is the one I feel like we’ll be coming back to the most often. Now to find some more books to read as we play...

To begin with, this game is beautifully made. I love the quality of the board and the blocks. The instructions are clear and easy to understand and it can be taught to someone in just a couple of minutes.Once the game starts, the problem that immediately takes place is that each player wants to experiment with the cube to see what will happen as it moves through its paces. Here is where the problem begins. Each player forgets which side was facing up prior to the experimentation. And then, there is no recourse other than starting again or just agreeing on a face up side.That is the thing that prevents me from giving this game Five stars. Perhaps a solution would be to include a fifth cube for each color so that the players can experiment with that and not "contaminate" the board. When you remove your first piece, this can become the experimentation piece. But, during gameplay, you forget and go back to the pieces on the board. I don't know how this can be avoided, but it really prevents the game from being spectacular.Aside from that, this is super challenging and it appears that the player that goes first has a distinct advantage. The price is right so I wouldn't hesitate to purchase it. Just keep these things in mind!

Easy to learn, fun quick games. Product is really neatly designed with the exception of the 1st Deblockle I received, the corner of the game board was not glued completely however Amazon took care of the return no issue and new one sent. The game pieces and board are made of wood so very nice quality just check it over. But still 5stars!!

What a great game! If you are looking for a brain stimulating game, this is it. We love that it is always a different game of strategy each time you play so it doesn't get boring. My whole family enjoys playing, so having the option of numbers of players is great. I think I'll buy one for my parents to help keep their minds sharp. Also, it's made out of wood so it will last for years, and my teenage boys won't be able to destroy it. ;)

Review:My family always had game nights, but now that the kids are out of the house, I wanted a game that just my husband and I could play. I ordered this after a friend recommended it to me and I love it! The colors are beautiful and it looks great when we’re not playing it. I’m still getting the hang of it, but I think this game will get a lot of use in our house! Highly recommend it. 😀

My husband and I love this game. It's easy to learn and is great when you want to play a quick game. I still haven't beat my husband at it, but it's very enjoyable.

Very awkward game mechanic, as you usually can’t see the faces that will be revealed once you’ve rolled the die. Also, a very slow and tedious flow once you’re close to the target square. Blue and gold paint is slightly metallic looking and the shades not very attractive and doesn’t feel right for a game made of wood.
