This is a good heavy leather welding jacket. The outlay of the pockets is nice. The velcro plus snaps along the front is a little different that I am used to in a welding jacket. You need to be careful when fastening it up. Overall sized a little small. I usually order a 2XL in order to get a looser fit, this one is just about right without wearing much under it. That makes it harder to use in cooler weather (warm layer under it would make it hard to move in it. Shoulders are a little tight. I am 6' and 230 lbs. Typical middle age shape. Overall the coat is well made and if I was keeping it for myself, I would order at least a size or two larger. I decided to pass it along to my son who is a typical skinny teenager of 6'2" and thin. Fits him just about perfect with room for some insulation under it for working in the winter welding.

I received the welding jacket and instantly appreciated its heft and durable leathery appearance. It appears to be well constructed and will survive me wearing it when doing my hobbiest version of welding against splatter, dripping slag, and welder's sunburn.It came with the expected aroma of recently tanned leather but having worked around livestock years ago I don't find that to be objectionable. The bit of advice I didn't heed was that they tended to run a little tight. If I was younger and trying to show off my shoulders it would be perfect. Unfortunately it reminded me that gravity is an issue for seniors and pot-bells do develop. I bought the extra large to encase my 67 inch frame as well as the 200lbs that I have gotten down too during the summer; I'm a chunk.The Thunder Coat will help me stick to my diet and I'm glad it has a strong hook 'n pile closure to assist in the snaps being a bit stressed.Yes I would recommend it. It's construction and quality are good enough for this hobbiest. For a proper evaluation I must leave that to the professionals but I'd buy it again and it will certainly out last me.

I got this to stop high frequency TIG "sunburns" on my neck and arms. It works great for that.What I could do without is the orange dye crap that it gets all over me and my clothes. Also stinks quite badly.

normally a 2x ordered a 3x for out of position often. perfect loose fit. sleeves are plenty long to fit in our over gloves. coat is long enough that chaps are not needed at times. nice heavy weight well oiled leather. had no burn throughs 180 amp overhead.

Good sturdy jacket the only thing I would advise is washing it before use if not you'll turn orange will definitely buy product again. Have 3 one to work in and 2 for riding the harley.

I present have a cotton welding jacket, which offer no more protection than a cotton sweat shirt. I am getting holes in my arms. so I was using cowhide sleeve arms and apron; which gave me the protection.

This is made of nice material, BUT...the snaps break when opening the jacket. Three have failed already, which I replaced from a kit I bought at Tandy Leather. the replacement snaps are working just fine. I'm heavy (240 pound) and the jacket is a little tight. It pops open if I bend over.

I've used this jacket for about 12hours a week for 2-4 months now. No problems and fits well, I'm 5' 10" 150-160Ibs

Fits good I ordered a XX large and it fits my 6.2 210 lb frame

Ok, ich musste es zwei- oder dreimal waschen, in der Waschmaschine bei 60, bevor es seinen "traditionellen" Geruch verlor. Aber ansonsten ist das Leder sehr solide und von guter Qualität und mit einer gewissen Eleganz und toller Weichheit
