Helpful Support Option for Pets with Kidney Concerns
My dog has kidney-related health issues, and I started this supplement as part of their care plan. I give it around the same time daily. Pros: • Gentle and easy to give • Supports digestive and kidney health balance • Trusted veterinary supplement Cons: • Needs to be refrigerated for best potency • Results are gradual and part of long-term care Overall: A solid supplement option when recommended by a vet. It’s meant to support, not replace, professional treatment but worth keeping in the routine.

This stuff has been keeping my 17yo dog alive and out ER
This stuff and Dr Harvey canine health mix with “ My Perfect Pet Low Phosphorus” if you can find it locally has been keeping my 17yo dog alive. I transitioned her off dry food to this. I know it says not to open it but I sprinkle it on cucumbers and watermelon she eats it right up. The more moisture food for kidney the better! Her levels are normal now and she doesn’t need iv fluids 3x week anymore also because they can be risk more for uti I give her coco & Luna uti chew. I’m blessed found this medicine

Good probiotic
The product itself seems fine. The pills are small, easy to give to my dog, and don’t have a noticeable smell or taste. Unfortunately, it was shipped with an ice pack that had melted by the time it arrived, and the bottle was warm. The label says it is shelf stable for up to 14 days at room temperature, but I need it to last longer since this is a 45‑day supply. Because it’s listed as non‑returnable for food safety reasons, I’m disappointed that I can’t use the full supply.

Good supplement for cats with kidney disease
I use this for my cat that has kidney disease. It was recommended by one our vets. I use this in conjunction with IV fluids 3x/week and kidney canned & kibble cat food. I just put this down my cats throat twice a day with some of her other medicine & supplements. It’s small enough she takes it easily.

Good product but bad shipping. Heat destroys the effectiveness
I've ordered this from Amazon before because the price was less than getting it from the vet. Every other time, it's arrived packed with chill packs. This time it did not, and there's apparently no way to get my money back. This stuff is NOT cheap! The product is supposed to be kept cool and it was shipped in a plain envelope. The product works well for improving cat kidney health, but not if it's exposed to high temperatures. I recommend the product, but not ordering it from a supplier that doesn't handle it correctly.

Amazing probiotic
My kitty's BUN numbers had increased 20 points over normal within two months, and she is in stage II of IV of CRF. I started her on the Azodyl, and a month later, her numbers have decreased 10 points. She She is also on subcutaneous fluids twice a week. I tried using pill pockets to administer the capsules, but she decided since there was something hard inside, she'd chew it first. Of course, once she tasted the powder, she wouldn't eat it. I also tried dumping the powder inside the pill pocket - again, no luck, plus, they pack a lot of powder into the capsules, and I had to use two pill pockets. So, I broke down and mixed it in with a teaspoon of her prescription wet food (Science Diet K/D). Bingo. She laps it up now with no argument. The manufacturer does state the probiotic should be given on an empty stomach. However, their website also states if it is given with no more than a teaspoon of food, it should be okay. I have also read that a teaspon of full fat yogurt also might work. For those of you having difficulty with your pet eating the prescriptive canned food, I had to mix it with regular canned food for about a week. Little by little, I began to mix in less of the regular canned food until all I did was put a teaspoon on top of the prescriptive food. My cat now is eating only prescriptive dry and wet food. Also, my kitty is on Cosaquin for her arthritic hips, and mixing that into the prescriptive wet food was helpful getting her to like it (different feeding than the Azodyl). However, I must state that my cat has maintained a voracious appetite. If your pet is refusing food, try mixing the powder into a very small amount of tuna water (liquid dissipates the probiotics too fast). Some people whose pets were much worse off than mine have had great results with Azodyl and their pets regained their appetite. A very small percentage have not had luck with it (BUN levels over 150). However, please don't give up; this probiotic is at least worth a try for a month. Update: My kitty's numbers continue to fall toward normal, albeit not quite there. However, the vet is very happy with my cat's progress and her condition is no longer considered "guarded." She looks and feels great. I am still mixing the Azodyl with a small amount of food twice a day. Considering my cat's progress, the vet did not feel giving the probiotic with a small amount of food was an issue. Straight from the manufacturer's website: "Azodyl capsules should be given whole and not opened or crushed. If necessary, administer capsule with a piece of the animal's favorite food or treat." This was delivered and when I went to open the pack I found it was not refrigerated. Tracking info showed it left the warehouse 48 hours prior to delivery...normally this is VERY quick and quite acceptable, but with probiotic that needs to be refrigerated, it didn't work out. I circled the "keep refrigerated" sticker and I am quite sure it won't be re-sold to anyone else. Seller Golda's Kitchen was hassle-free with the return, just required a trip to the post office for drop-off. I wanted to give this a go, but I won't give it to my animal knowing it is potentially spoiled/not effective.
