Flavor-Doh for Cats - Chicken Flavor - 7 oz

We tried this as an alternative to another pill wrap with which the cat sometimes acts like he is chewing and then swallows. With this product, he did the same, except that he sucked the Flavor-Doh off and spit out the pill. That was our first attempt, so we will try again. We're hoping the cat will figure out this is a new pill wrap. The texture of this is less rubbery and smokey than the other product and we like that.

I have one cat that is super smart about avoiding meds, and this cat is picky about flavor doh flavors, some he loves and some he won't touch. The doh is great for hiding pills or powders if your cat likes the doh. One of my cats will play with it but not eat it, the other cat gobbles it up without a second thought. So if you are trying to get meds into a smart little cat it is definitely worth a try.

So one of the cats liked is SO much that she found the container and tried to chew through it. The other cat that I needed to pill would figure out how to lick the dough off the pill and leave the pill on the floor. Very smart cat. Another cat just sniffs it and walks away, so I think it's really subjective as to how much they will like/not like it.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I have a 19-yr old cat who needs his heart meds 2x/day, Thyroid meds 2x/day and is on a special kidney diet (yes, most expensive stray cat ever). I used pill pockets successfully for a couple of years and then he decided he wanted no part of them. I then spent a fortune on compounding the meds into liquids, chews, transdermal rubs, all of which he eventually struggled with. It was becoming too stressful for both of us. And then I went looking for an alternative to pill pockets and found this product. Voila! He's taking his meds and his cat mom isn't stressed!

It is worth a try --I was desperate for something to work to avoid having to "pill" my 19 year old cat as we both hate that --but this product is almost too thin and gets very wet as she licks it which she does instead of just picking up the dough covered pill and chewing it. It doesn't work for us, unfortunately.

The idea is great and I used pill pockets successfully for a long time. But my cat got tired of pill pockets and stopped eating them (and her pills). I tried this product but unfortunately she didn't like it at all. I am sure it would work for other cats but for me it was a waste of money.

This product changed my life. I have tried many different kinds of pill pockets or paste, but this is the only one my cat has consistently gone for. It's been years and she still takes her pill, no problem, with this paste. Each cat is different. If you need to pill your cat each day, try different kinds--it's worth it to find the right one!

It doesn't stick as well as other brands, but the smell is much more acceptable for cats.
