Q: What opening I need in the ceiling for 1/4 turn at the bottom and 1/4 opening at the top both turns to the left?

Depends on how big you are, what your carrying and what your structure allows for. The opening has nothing really to do with the steps, it’s just preference to suit your needs. Remember the steps don’t go through the ceiling they attach to the wall.

Yes, the handrail on one side is included

Q: Can everything be changed e.g height and length? I need this to fit in a small closet to go up to the stairs

Yes you can change the height, I removed one tread as the height I needed was less than the maximum. You can also adjust the total height by just changing the distance between treads. It can also turn corners. I'm very pleased with mine and it works well.

Q: What size of opening at the top of the staircase is required

Take the measurements of the length of the staircase and use that as you'll need head room as you ascend.
