One of the BEST tools for Recovery and Relapse Prevention
I bought this as a gift for someone as I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in preventing relapse in their recovery. In their words it has been beneficial in the tools that are given and they have stated that it is very relatable to their own experiences with addiction and that it has been very effective in preventing relapse when triggers rear their ugly head. They also said it really does help that it’s easily understandable and they can identify with every aspect and love the encouragement and support it provides. They have also said that it would definitely be beneficial to anyone who has ever struggled with substance abuse disorders and is extremely helpful in preventing relapse in recovery.

Helped Save My Sons Life
Sent this to my son who is in recovery. He can’t put it down and when he does his counseling staff wants to use it in group sessions! It is a must read according to everyone especially my son!!!It has given him strength and wisdom, truly positive and motivational. Has helped my son realize that he is not alone in this battle with drugs and the depression that reared it’s scary ugly fears of the unknown once he cleared his body and mind from the all consuming drugs that were in him for a very long time. As a mother who once believed she lost her son to addiction I am so very thankful for this well written book. My son now reads and puts into action what he learns and realizes daily from it.

Stepping
On time, arrived undamaged. Haven't opened the book yet. Have a full library of things to read and workbooks to do. But, I am still working the program as a recovering alcoholic and am sure it will be of benefit, otherwise I would not have ordered it.

Love this!
I am a case manager at a substance abuse facility. I use this workbook to provide my clients with homework to work on while they are with us. I really love the detail put into the worksheets. It’s great. It have emotions, high risk situations, understanding addiction, understanding the reasons why they use, and so much more.

pretty good
I like the tips and ideas and I learned new things I never would have thought of on my own. Only thing I dont like is some of the journal questions are silly and I cant seem to find an answer to them. Its over all a good book, but i had to leave some of the journal questions blank.

Happy to have found this informational workbook
Lots of great information! My husband recently completed inpatient rehab, we do a lot of studying and reading together since he’s been home. This workbook is a favorite, we both love all the educational info it gives. I believe the education of addiction and why people become addicted, etc is what makes this book stand out from the rest. After reading the first couple chapters, we have a lot more understanding of what we’ve been through and how to handle things that may come our way in the future.

If you have someone in your life with addiction issues, this is a must to have to help understand
I’m a middle aged dad in college to become a mental health social worker, I think this book should be included in the practicum for ease of understanding and great tips for working with people with addiction issues.

Very helpful...
For 99p this grabbed my curiosity. It’s been over 5 1/2 years since i quit smoking, over 2 years since i quit alcohol, but i keep hold of a few nagging little addictions — like too much cocoa/chocolate/coffee and vaping — which i keep trying to rid myself of but keep finding myself back at. So i gave this book a go with an open mind.It certainly made me re-think a lot of things about addiction, especially my previous love of alcohol. And it’s also given me some ideas on moving forward with my life from here and next steps i might take. It’s difficult to judge how much value any of these addiction books will be to anyone. It all depends on the addiction, the reason, the circumstances, the too many variables of life to mention. But i do think there’s something in this book for most people who are wanting to deal with one or more of their addictions. It’s approached well, the beginning of the book being about wanting to quit and preparing to, then moving onto actually quitting in the middle of the book and finally to post addiction life.So for 99p in a Kindle deal, i think it was a really good bargain. I certainly got a lot out of it, and if you are serious about getting sober and off your poison then give it a read. No, not all of it will speak to you, but read enough books like this and do a pick and mix of ideas and techniques from each of them that work for you and you to can soon be on the road to a life without addiction — if you really want to.At the end of the day, it’s up to you. Reading any book on addiction recovery can only help so much, it’s you that has to really want it, and if you do then books like this will have some good help and advice for you.
