So encouraging!
Honestly, I don’t know what type mite I have infesting my home and body, but every single thing is this book is spot on. I loved how he starts out the book in chapter 1. Getting into the right mindset is crucial, and it had been something I struggled with due to the nightmare it has created. I loved how he set out all the steps of exactly what to do, and a shopping list. Take what u want and leave what u don’t, but he gave all the suggestions u could use if u want. This book was extremely clear and an easy read. I personally would recommend a real UVC light & essential oils such as neem to the list of essentials. Everything else he seemed to be spot on. Thank u for such an informational book for such a devastating time.

Another credible example of a bird mite sufferer
I was eager to read this book to find solutions to my bird mite infestation. There are some useful suggestions, such as limiting body moisture in private areas and using menthol to repel the mites. However, none of the strategies worked completely. Abandoning the environment for 6 months, may be misleading for the mite sufferer. There are bird mites, such has the dermanysuss gallinae, known as the red poultry mite, that can survive up to a year without a bloodmeal. I wish the author had addressed this important fact. Still, this is one more case that proves bird mites can and do survive off of people. It is so ignorant, irresponsible for 'experts' to claim this isn't possible. This helps to continue the discussion on this subject. The media really needs to address this issue with 'experts' and have them provide the evidence that undeniably supports bird mites cannot survive off of people. Bed bugs started with the avian/fowl population and quickly evolved to feeding off of people. The science community is missing the elephant in the room, "How are these mites/parasites still surviving without their blood specific avian host?"

Very helpful guide for bird mite sufferers
I prefer this methodical book by Robert E. Johnson to the ones of Richard Kuhns, Jane Ishka and Diane Olive, although each of them offer valuable information and helpful tips. Johnson's book is concise and well written and gives clear advice, describes how to wrap up a mattress, fabric and furniture in a way I have not read anywhere else. It shows what psychological attitude leads to success, the different steps to take to get out of this nightmarish experience. The author is quite knowledgeable in biological contexts, but does not give himself this guru-like appearance as some of the other healing circles of mite and Morgellons sufferers (like Mel Friedman) do. For most of us there is of course the problem with the six months moving out period, but the book also explains what to do if this is not possible: living in one part of one's house while sealing off the other part or at least a certain part which is not absolutely necessary. It also explains that many of the products marketed on the internet to mite sufferers are not as effective as people hope. It comes down to systematic vacuuming, cleaning, 91% alcohol, efficient laundering, and in severe cases like ours fogging the ceilings with ammonia. The diet which is on Kuhn's book taken to an unproven extreme, is here reduced to leave off sugar, too many carbs and eat healthy food. There is also no selling of a whole array of supplements like with Mel Friedman and Kuhns. I think Johnson's book is honest, precise and correct.

This book saved our sanity
Great to see this book is finally on Amazon. During a mite infestation of our home I was searching high and low for advice and someone gave me a draft manuscript of this book. The advice the author gave was right on, helping save my sanity and clear up the infestation that was driving us crazy (caused by an abandoned bird nest in the eaves of the house). So when we saw this was now published, we had to buy a copy to keep on hand "just in case" that nightmare should ever happen again. The published version is more in-depth than the draft version and there's an appendix in the back with research showing that mites can and will attack humans. This is good to show to any doubters, who tell you the crawling and biting sensations you feel are "just your imagination." Anyway, this contains priceless information for anyone dealing with an invasion of bird mites or other tiny biting insects. Following the steps in the book is a fair amount of work, but in our case it was worth it and did solve our problem.

Good information about ridding your home and yourself of mites
Although the author took the drastic measure of moving out of his house for six months, his other measures to rid his home and himself of mites were quite effective, especially the recommendation of NitsFree for hair and skin and ammonia for washing clothes and floors. I have a robovac with an attachment for washing floors. I put pure ammonia in the tank of the robovac, turn it loose on the bedroom floor and close the door. I also use this method in other rooms in the house. Thanks to this book, I'm now about 80-90% mite free. It's worth the read.

Solutions offered are not a viable options
Note to the author. You should have saved yourself years by just giving yourself a pressure washing containing muriadic acid and saline then burning your house to the ground with everything you own inside.Seriously, it is 2018 and we are planning on putting a man on the surface of a moving comet and their isn't a easier way to kill these avian mite bastards. I currently am living with a mite problem and am not willing to basically sit in a milk crate for a year. I used a commercial vapor steam cleaner to nuke these bastards like a Marine showering napalm into a cave in Iwo Jima. The only pain in the ass part is that you gave to stay up all night because during the day they hide because UV radiation destroys their cell structure by breaking the RNA proteins. Just one redneck's from Georgia opinion at least.

Questionable
The book contains shopping list of items they used abd what they dud with the items. However after all tge work noted that they did they left their house with nothing and lived elsewhere for 6 months. They left home with nothing bought new non cotton clothes and threw away okd cloths. Therefore not sure info is helpful.
