Nice quality wood with a firm grain and the finish is smooth.The longer tool has a slightly sharpish edge on the pointy side (not dangerously) which is what I was looking for in at least one of the tools for quick scraping actions. I have another set purchased elsewhere and all of the tools are so rounded on the edge that while good for deep massage, not good for quick sharp surface stimulation.The finger like end of the tool in this set that looks like a horn or a scoop, is perfect for twirling out kinks in the neck while at the desk. I'm very happy with this set!!
