Performs as expected. One thing I do not like about it different from the Apple Smart Keyboard (Or other Logitech) is that you can't fold it back without it separating. So you are constantly reattaching. It works and easy to re-attach but I think that will wear out the connectors eventually.

I wanted a Smart Connect keyboard, because I’ve tried several Bluetooth keyboard cases and keep having problems with skipped letter and duplicates. I thought only Apple made them, but the Apple keyboard leaves the back of the iPad unprotected and those little “Chiclet” keys just don’t work for me. Plus, it doesn’t have a holder for my Apple Pencil. Then I discovered this Logitech, and wow! I’m really thrilled with it. The keys feel more natural, and detaching it requires no work whatsoever when I want to use the iPad by itself. The screen angle is fully adjustable rather than only having one or two positions. The keyboard is backlit, and requires no charging ever because of the Smart Connector. It does shorten iPad battery life a bit, but that’s tolerable—especially because it’s trivial to detach it when I don’t need a keyboard. And when the keyboard is detached, the iPad still has back and corner protection, with slightly extended lips to further protect the screen. I know some don’t like the fact that it doesn’t make a completely firm fit when attached, but for me it’s an advantage. I’m frequently using it in my lap rather than a table, and the ability for the screen to be other than the exact same angle as the keyboard lets it sit on my legs more comfortably. Oh, and the keyboard is backlit. I leave that off most of the time, but it has come in handy a couple of times. I can’t recommend this highly enough. BUT WARNING: This black case really absorbs heat and prevents the iPad from radiating heat, so working with it outside in direct sunlight frequently leads to overheating the iPad.

We bought one of these and After 4 years of being dropped by my daughter the keyboard stopped working. I immediately bought her a new one as this is a nice piece of equipment and the case protects the iPad extremely well..

I purchased this for my fiancé and he has been very happy with it. The keys are backlit and that feature is automatic, which he has found very useful. He likes the look and feel of the case and the kickstand works well. This case charges automatically from the iPad's power - you don't have to plug it in.

Yes, it disconnects when flipped backward, but I only need it to work on a tabletop.I have not observed it sliding in my bag and turing on the iPad to discharge the battery, although I do not travel with it much.

Pretty easy to attach to the iPad. It does add some bulk so if you're really opposed to adding thickness to your super thin iPad this might not be for you. As another review indicated the keyboard attachment is a little wonky. By that I mean it's easy for the keyboard to disconnect if you're moving around with it. It's a little annoying, hence 4 stars. The kickstand works great and is useful if you just want to prop up the tablet to watch a movie. This does work just fine with the iPad Air but it's clear that was not the original tablet it was designed for. Everything works but you can see that some of the cut-outs aren't for the Air but they are there for the iPad Pro 10.5.So far I'm happy with the purchase. It's $20 cheaper than the Apple keyboard and it does cover the back of the tablet. The little typing I have done on this one was good. As a bonus it's got a pencil holder which is nice to have.

Great case but heavy. Works well although sometimes you need to “reset” the iPad in the base for connection to keyboard.
