Hifi amp with tons of power for a budget price
I had a much expensive amplifier the one of the R series of Alpine with 6 channels!! I was only using 4 chanels cause I am an audiophile I don't care about noize, but good quality. So I decided to buy this amp for my 4 focal speakers ( 2 component and 2 full range) added a cheap DSP from Dayton audio with Aptx HD bluetooth codec capabilities and a separate subwoofer with a 1200 rms Scar subwoofer amp. The Polk sounds way better than the Alpine, amazing quality for the price and yes the watts are real not BS... This is a powerful Amp with an amazing Hifi quality.. Tweeters sound crispy and detailed and the mind range of the voices its pretty good!! Don't waste your money in more expensive amps, this old amp is powerfull and has the Hifi quality

Great buy for the money
This thing is great. My front and rear deck speakers sound amazing, with plenty of reserve power.

bandpassable 4 channel amp , class d 125rms at 2 oms
great amp for a class d 4ch. i have three and two mono blocks , my favorite feature that makes me want this amp in 2022 , its been discontinued for 10 years , is the band-pass-able crossover , my first experience with this amp was two channels running 2 polk mm 6.5" component and two mm1540 woofers at 2 ohms bridged , this amp pushed the woofers to near xmax , couldnt tell it wasnt getting rms visually or audibly , and afters hours of play at high volume amps is cool and the mids never distorted or volume drop in and out when the bass gets heavy. great amp , i expanded to another 4 chn added 2 more pairs of mm 6.5 , now ive bought my third , i plan on putting all the tweeters on one amp , all the mid / high ranges on another and the mid / bass on the third . since the amps are band passable i can the mid high bandpass at 3k - 800 , and the mid bass on at 800hz - 100hz , and subs at 100hz - 10hz

Nice Solid Amp with Great High, Low, and Bandpass Filters!
I bought this amp to drive my Scan Speak 4" midranges and 6.5" Boston Acoustic midbass speakers from the signal fed from a Pioneer 80PRS. I have the High feed from the Pioneer going to a separate amp and then to a set of Vifa tweeters (4KHz and up) and the mid signal (80Hz-4KHz) going to the Polk and then to the Scans and Bostons. The Pioneer has a 2-way active crossover and I really wanted a 3-way active system so I got this Polk and I use it to split the 80Hz-4Khz into 80Hz-300Hz for the mid bass Bostons, and 300Hz-4KHz for the Scan Speak midranges. The amp is small, and the connections are solid. The buttons and potentiometers are well laid out and it was easy to set things where I needed them. Barring any hardware failure I can say I am very happy with this amp. The mid signal is clear and gets plenty loud if I need it to.

Awesome
I haven't yet installed this, but I purchased a p.1000 a while back and this one was packaged even better than the last. Good job guys I can't wait to see how this makes my system sound!!

Overheated after a month
I replaced my clarion amps I had on my boat for 4 years - never had an issue just looking for more power. I was surprised how hot these amps get since they are class d - after I month of use the amp keeps going into thermal protection. I called Polk and they do not warrant 3rd party sellers that are not authorized dealers. After spending 45 minutes on calls with Amazon they sent me a new one since the purchase was past 30 days. Let's see how this new one does. The sound is outstanding.

Nice amplifier but make sure .......
Quality unit but who ever processed this order NEVER put the amplifier in a shipping box but placed a shipping label on the actual item box!! UPDATE: I just had seen that here is an option to choose to have items shipped with the label directly on the item box or to have the item placed in a shipping box to hide the contents.... :)

BOOM
BOOM! This thing packs a punch! I am driving a pair of Polk MM1 6.5 components, and MM1 6x9s from a Kenwood head unit in my Grand Prix. These are high demand speakers and this amp is way more than I need for them. I went through the tuning process trying to find the distortion point (indicating clipping) but never found one. Even with the gain all the way up I could not cause this amp to distort. I run it at about 1/3 gain. If you purchase, and I recommend you do, be sure to give it the power it needs. I ran 4 gauge marine grade tinned copper wire, be aware copper plated aluminum wire will not carry the same current. I also added a capacitor for good measure but it hardly ever turns on. I also used 14 gauge speaker wire and twisted pair rca cables. If you don’t compliment this amp with the components to support the quality performance it is capable of then you will not get all it has to offer. I can’t say enough good things about my experience with Polk. I have been in contact with them several times for home theater speakers, and they have offered all of the advice I could ask for. They even sent me some resistors to change the tweeter power in a tower speaker crossover and told me how to do it. Once I sent them the amp from a powered sub that I had owned for 8 years that had mysteriously killed itself, they sent me a new amp, FREE OF CHARGE! Fantastic company, fantastic products!
