I really didn't expect to like this strap when I first received it. I've tried about 4 others and at first glance, I didn't think this design was going to work at all. Also, it had a bit of an odor to it from the manufacturing process. I went ahead and washed it before use and that seemed to help. As far as actual use, I have been far more impressed than I ever expected to be. 1) it works 2) it is comfortable 3) it does not come loose--although I only use it for basketball so can't compare to how it would do in other sports 4) it doesn't show any signs of beginning to fail which means it has lasted longer and is more reliable than any of the other brands I've tried. I actually almost didn't buy this because I don't like the logo but I don't really notice it any more at this point. As far as cost, it seems about middle of the road in comparison but for value I'd say it is better because it is lasting longer in that the velcro has not started to fail like the others did.

I Jazzercise 3-4 times a week and started having knee pain. I thought I needed to change shoes or wear different insoles- that didn't work. I have worn full knee braces and plain straps before and the braces were too hot and restrictive. The plain straps didn't make much difference. I've worn the Patella Strap Knee Brace for a few weeks now and it really helps. It is comfortable and supports my knee without restricting my movement or making me look like I've had some serious injury ( when I wear a brace people think I've had surgery or hurt myself!).

If I had rated this sooner I would have given 5 stars but I've had it about a month a it doesn't stay up. I'm constantly having to readjust all workout which means I'm favoring my leg and not getting a full work out. If the seller will replace, I'd consider trying a new one.

I purchased this strap because it was among the highest rated. I'd like to distinguish myself from many other reviewers for this product in two respects. (1) I'm a runner/athlete, and I've had problems with my knees for about eight years. I've had many patellar band straps before, so I know generally what to expect. (2) I did not receive this product for free in return for this review. I paid full price.First, the positives. I liked that the strap adjusts on both sides, and I also like that the front portion is pretty wide. For the short time that I wore it, it was very comfortable.Now, the negative (and biggest factor in my review). It slid off my knee. This is a common problem for me; it's happened with about half the patellar band straps I've bought. I wasn't running for five minutes before it slid down over the knob at the top of my tibia.My recommendation - if you're buying this to alleviate problems with standing/walking, it's probably a good bet, and it is very comfortable. But simply put, it did not work at all for me.

This strap seems well made. It arrived promptly. Instructions were clear. Received follow-up email from the seller to make sure we're satisfied with the product. This was purchased for my teenage son who has a pretty severe case of Osgood Schlatter's disease, and for him, the strap didn't provide any relief. For what it's worth, I also purchased another strap at the same time, and that one didn't provide any relief either. So for certain cases of Osgood Schlatter's, this is probably not going to help.

After using the Strapsnake on just a couple of occasions, I found that I was able to run further while using this strap to help ease or prevent my tendonitis from becoming a hassle which was keeping me from running longer distances. If I felt anything at all, it was neither discomfort from the patella strap or my tendon. The idea of having two velcro straps definitely helps keep this in the proper place while exercising. It does not impede your gait while either walking or running and there is no need to worry that it would slip or slide down and then have to stop and make adjustments. I completely forgot that I was wearing the Strapsnake.There should be no rubbing or irritation on the back of your leg from the velcro if the straps a properly aligned. I had no issue with this as it is a very light and comfortable wearing device. I highly recommend using this support for your everyday use and have the confidence that you can again, walk freely without having to worry about annoying pain.

In NEED of a knee support I found the Strapsnake on Amazon and ordered one, but picked up another brand at my local Rx store. When I received my Strapsnake I put it on the bad knee and the store one on the not-so-bad knee. There was NO comparison and I immediately ordered as second Strapsnake! I like the way the strap is tapered as it makes it much more comfortable to wear and especially to bend my knee and while sitting. The two side buckle/velcro straps made periodic adjustments, which are needed with my water retention, much easier and more accurate - meaning I could do it in one try instead of several. I was also impressed with the craftsmanship in general, particularly the way the inner lining is molded around the pressure tube and stitch anchored. Plus the lining material was more comfortable against my skin for an entire day's wear, than the one from the Rx store. I will soon be ordering a second, back-up set of Strapsnakes.
