Used to spring assist close murphy bed/wall bed
I used this as a spring assist for a diy murphy/wall bed project. Installation was fairly easy. I needed two sets of hands to get the tension set properly, and I'll probably wind up buying another one to make it easier to stow the bed when not in use. Only complaint is that when installed the chain is only held in place by tension and with enough vibration could possibly work its way out of the plate. Get yourself a pin long enough to cover the gap and thin enough to fit through a bike chain and you won't have any worries.

Follow up customer service from the manufacturer is horrid
Within 2 years the chain pulled through the plate because the quality of the brass is inferior. When I emailed the manufacturer they got wrapped up in their warranty terms and told me I should got to Home Depot and get another one. I said I was happy to buy a new plate (as I needed one) and they said they are not a retailer. The product is as bad as the service.

After a year of use, no longer closes all the way
Worked well to start, but after a year, it no longer closes the door all the way. Tightened it up, but no longer effective even on the maximum setting before runs out of spring. I guess the spring loses it's springiness. Will need to replace it.
