String Light Company Vintage 48-Ft Outdoor Commercial String Lights with 15 Suspended Sockets and 15 Clear S14 Bulbs, 16 Gauge Black Cord

We purchased these lights in July 2014. They have been hanging on our patio since that time. They've weathered many storms in all four seasons and still work without fail. We've only had to replace two bulbs, which were broken when we accidentally bumped them with an extension ladder. Our lights remain unplugged until we need them, the plug (not a grounded plug) and wire still look new.My only suggestion is that you order extra bulbs when you order your light string. These particular bulbs were not available at any of the local big box hardware stores. The other option to consider is to by the string that does not have bulbs with it, then purchase bulbs locally. Then you know you can get matching replacement bulbs at a moments notice. However, the vintage shape is what I liked, so I ordered extra. Had we not been so clumsy with the ladder, the box would still be unopened!We had to install posts as there are no trees close enough to hang the lights on. In order to reduce stress on the light string, we ran coated cable between the posts then hung the lights using black zip ties. (Installing a small turn buckle between each of the posts helped to keep the cable taut and allows for adjustment should we decide to add slack to the line).These lights add a wonderful ambiance to our outdoor patio. We've received several comments on how nice they look. I would recommend them and would purchase them again if I ever needed to "jazz up" another outdoor entertainment area.

High quality outdoor lights include molded strain relief, much better than cheap Christmas light style strings. Each lamp socket includes a molded loop to fasten the light string to a hook, nail or other support. I strung mine across a wide swimming pool and patio so I ran a 1/4" galvanized cable for support and used stainless zip ties to strap the lights to it. They would likely be fine without the extra cable but since they are outside in the harsh Florida climate and over a pool, I wanted the extra layer of safety and longevity so I don't have to worry about them failing early due to wire fatigue or worse, snapping and falling into the pool.The vintage style bulbs look very classy and produce a nice ambient glow, bright enough to see well at night, but still ambient and enjoyable. I do wish that they would start offering them with reasonably priced LED bulbs. If you plan to leave them on all night every night, it might be worth upgrading, but for a few hours here and there the 11 watt incandescents are ok.

We have these hanging over our outdoor dining table and get comments from everyone about how nice they are. They are plugged into an outlet on a dimmer, so we can further tailor the outdoor dining experience. The wire is not the really thick round wire that it looks like in the photo, but it is still pretty heavy gauged wire. This set is certainly more industrial grade string lights than most I have seen in the local box stores. Minus 1 star for the bulbs. As other have noted the only complaint is that the bulbs that come with the set seem a bit finicky, we have had a few burn out almost immediately. After about 25% burned out we bought these as replacements from Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005MYUAAE/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_21), They are a slightly different bulb style, but we actually like the new style better, and the package comes with enough to have a few extra hanging around.

The lights are great, but Amazon shipped me the wrong bulbs with them I do want to return the whole set as they are installed I just want to get the bulbs I bought. There is no place on their site to do this.Very frustrating

We bought three strings of these for our outdoor entertaining area. Beware they have some serious weight, so you need to secure them properly but gosh they look amazing compared to the store brand of string lights. The description said 11 Watt bulbs. It's definately 15 watt bulbs. I was concerned this was going to be too bright, but they are spaced so nicely that it creates amazing ambience from dusk to dessert time. We've had 10+ parties and everyone raves how nice they are and how it opens up the backyard in the way that spot lights never could... nicer than some restaurants we see. We're about 10 months in now... all working well. Worth the cash, great quality, very pleased.

I tried and tried to find a way to contact Amazon about this but the only online options seem to be to do a return of the full product, which I don't want to do since I spent considerable time/energy hanging the light strand before finding out that two of the bulbs were dead out of the box and another two bulbs burned out as soon as I screwed them in. I really just want some replacement bulbs but there's no phone number available on Amazon's site to call them and, like I said, I don't want to do a full return of the product when only a small part of the order was defective.

These lights were not the same as the picture - the cord was different, and the bulbs were different. Should have listed to the other reviewers! Sent them back.

I put this up the other week in hopes of adding a little light. I live out in the country and like to have fires on the weekends. My fire ring is about 100 feet from my house, so I wanted to provide a little light for my friends as they're coming and going. The amount of light these throw off is perfect. Its enough light to provide a clear walking bath, but not blinding or anything to ruin your vision at night. They have a very retro look to them, and my neighbor even stopped over and said it looked like "cirque du soleil". I would recommend buying a cable to run throw the eyelets to support they're weight. I bought 400 feet of 1/16" cable and it worked perfect.
