Laura Soy beans, new crop and Non-GMO - directly from the Chambers Family Farm in Iowa. Makes best Soy Milk, Tofu, or Tempeh

This is my first time buying Laura soybeans, and first time from this seller. I am very impressed by the quality and flavor of the beans! They are very mild and slightly sweet in flavor. Very few "dead" beans and the skins come off so easily! I make Korean style soy milk for breakfast most days, and never have I enjoyed my breakfast so much! They are a bit expensive compared to other soybeans, but for the flavor and quality they are worth every penny!

I bought these soy beans to make soy milk. I have been buying organic beans at a local store before, but the store ran out and could not tell me when they would get them again, so I ordered these instead. I am very glad I did, as these are so much milder tasting. Previously even though I religiously peeled the beans after soaking, I would still be left with a slightly "beany" and a tad bitter taste, but not with these! The taste is very mild and nice.I also have a tip regarding how to help getting rid of any bitter taste, if anyone would like to try it: After doing some research on how to "debitter" soy beans, I learned that there is an enzyme just under the peel that supposedly causes the bitter taste, according to some websites. Big companies seem to use hot steam in order to deactivate this enzyme. So I gave it a try and poured boiling water over the dry beans when I starting to soak them. I was worried that the beans would become "cooked", but after several hours, when the water had cooled, the beans behaved and tasted as before, when I only soaked them in cold water, and were just as easy to peel. or even easier (I still do this by hand). Now there is no trace whatsoever of any bitter taste at all, and my soy milk has never tasted this good. I will admit that I never tried this with my old beans as I only learned about this recently, after I had already bought Laura's, which are very mild and makes a better tasting soy milk already, but I do think the boiling water method has made the milk taste even better.

I bought these to may my own soy milk. These are not de-bittered. To me the taste is awful. I even tried skinning them which was very time comsumming, still I could not stand the taste. Nothing like store bought soy milk.I have settled on a rice 1/3, Almond 1/3 with a little vanilla, brown sugar and a touch of salt as my standard recipe which to me tastes better then most store bought alternatives.

As soon as supermarket start selling soy milk, I start buying. For 3+ years, I was paying some $3 per half gallon and we drank 3 of them per week in the family. The money is not a big issue here. The bigger issue is that I can see those "special" ingredients they put into those commercial soy milk are not in my best interests. Then I saw soy milk maker on Amazon which seem easy to use/clean and not expensive. After getting one, I start buying different kind of organic soybeans on Amazon and local stores. I've tried 4 different kinds so far and without doubt, this one has the BEST taste. Wash and put the beans in filter water for 6~8 hours and use your machine to make the soy milk. Cost? For me, it is about 60 cents per half gallon now and my ingredients are only soybean, water and 30g of sugar. No more 11 ingredients...this is priceless!!!

After buying a soymilk maker I wanted to be sure I had a supply of beans I could rely on, so I choose these based on reviews.When buying in bulk you can never be sure of their age. Laura beans are guarenteed to be the crop picked in Oct. so I'm sure I'll be happy for the next year!I got the 13 lbs bag

I buy these beans on a regular basis, the quality of these beans is always there in every order. I find the taste of these beans to be really good tasting.
