1 X Heavyweight Pastry Cloth and Rolling Pin Cover Set

I have a set up like this for years and it finally bit the dust. This makes making pie shells and dumplings a breeze. The sleeve for the rolling pin is envaluable. The pastry cloth is heavy duty and prevents flour from seeping through. A must for every baker.

the edges are serged instead of hemmed, and on the first washing two of the edges pulled out of the serging leaving ragged sections on the sides.I don't understand why, if you're going to make a product, you don't make it to the best of your ability. Yes, it would probably take a few extra minutes to actually HEM the edges, but it would last a lot longer!The weight of this cloth is really good - it's nice and heavy. Somewhat stiff, too. I like this in a pastry cloth. The size is OK, although I'd prefer it to be a bit larger so I can have space to not only roll out the dough but also have a small pile of flour for flouring my cookie cutters, etc.I recommend this pastry cloth with one reservation: Before using it, hem all the edges if you want it to last!I also highly recommend the Ateco pastry cloth: Ateco Pastry Cloth and Rolling Pin Cover The rolling pin cover is exceptionally long, which is great if you, like I, have a long rolling pin.

This product was described as a heavy weight pastry cloth! It is not heavy weight!!

Pastry cloth was okay, but wanted a heavier material like my old one that lasted two.generations. Cover was a little thin. That being said the product would be fine for those who do pastry occasionally

I would not use if it wasn't up to standard! I have always used both when I make a pie. They are great and I shake it out I throw in the washer and dryer and it is what I expect.

The pastry cloth is flimsy and slides around as I attempt to roll the dough. I should have spent more money and bought something more substantial.

I"ve seen these used, and thought I'd try it. Excellent for pie making, even when the fat in the piecrust begins to warm. Does not stick when flour is applied to the cloth, and easily transport rolled crust to pie pan and no stickiness. I gave it 4 stars because I would have liked to have it be heavier weight, but this was the heaviest available on amazon.
