Better Than Expected
Though perhaps not as well known as The Deerslayer or The Last of the Mohicans, this third of James Fennimore Cooper’s five “Leatherstocking Tales” is proving to be an enjoyable read. The descriptions of nature and of persons are in-depth and beautifully done.

Enjoyed it
I'm not an avid book reader but picked up Last of the Mohicans, the The Deerslayer and now the Pathfinder...I guess I'll end up reading the whole series. As I read the first two, I wasn't so sure about the language (e.g. Anan? consaint) where Cooper is trying to write like Natty B talks, but now it's not such a struggle. I find myself wondering if early readers struggled like I did to understand the language. I think somebody tried to make me read this in high school and if so, I'm sure that I probably struggled even more trying to make sense of some of the dialog. With that said, I'm no judge of great literature but to me, this is a book that a guy in his fifties can enjoy.

and because I enjoyed those, I decided to read The Pathfinder
Let me start off by saying I am a fan of historical fiction and Cooper's Leatherstocking Tales.I have read The Deerslayer and The Last of the Mohicans, and because I enjoyed those,I decided to read The Pathfinder.I was disappointed.I felt the story would have been more interestingif it had been a little shorter. The journey on the river(storm) was a little too long and drawn out. Also,I expected there to be a little more action.,

GOOD DELIVERY - GOOD CONDITION - GOOD YARN, BUT SPINE MARGINS IN THE TEXT ARE TOO SMALL AND MAKE THE LEFT HAND PAGE HARD TO READ WITHOUT BREAKING THE SPINE.
