We created a "pocket" of approximately 7mm To provide a genuine Carbon Fiber Lid Using our soon to be released Vertical Opening Aluminum Model. This model is Military Spec at 2 inches long by 1 1/8 wide. The depth is approximately .5 inches. Not quite an ETA on official release so grab the few prototypes while I have them. Our design is complete. We only have a few of these available until we launch officially and there will be a wait. In addition to the normal machining of 2 solid blocks of aluminum there is MUCH more work involved. Both hands on and design. This model opens vertically (as in the movie). Held with the same magnets (the strongest one can purchase) there is a stabalizing track and your necklace will not open or wobble. The engineering is the finest today. The Carbon Fiber is 100% Genuine... not a skin or like a cell phone case.. this is like the Mercedes Dashboard ! We have to use a special high speed lazer cutter with exact precision or the inlay will not fit and the Carbon Fiber will split. The time to complete this model is more than 3 of the original aluminum designs. This is engineering, This is quality... this is jewelry and now ... today.. more Men and Woman are turning to necklaces and bracelets as accessories because watch sales are down ! And This is FUNCTIONAL. his model is military spec and 1/8' slimmer than our previous models (always available on our website). The dimensions are 2" long by 1 1/8" wide by approximately 1/2" in depth. This model takes multiples of time to create than the Aluminum or Brass design... the milling of the pocket for the inlay isn't too bad (as we do that for leather), however; with the use of a high speed laser we must have exact, precise measurements in order to properly cut the carbon fiber for an exact and perfect fit.. we have split many pieces.. this is our highest end and machined piece to date.The storage area is sealed on its own. This is NOT water-proof !
