Happy with Purchase :)
This is one of those products I wish I knew about sooner! I have been using laptops for nearly 2 decades and never given much thought about how much wireless radiation I am exposed to. It isn't until recently there have been much more awareness on the topic that I had to take action. One of those actions is buying this pad. The pad itself is very simple and very good quality. It has a nice rubber surface layer that sits on top of a sturdy tray. The rubber area grips to the laptop and absorbs heat. But if you are someone, like me, who tends to have their knees up it will slip down against your belly. Which is okay, since that is how I typically use my laptop but it still remains on top of this pad and still blocks any wireless radiation from below. As for heat this pad helps a lot. Since it is a flat surface there be improved air flow equivalent to using a laptop on a desk. Depending on how hot your laptop gets you will either feel no heat on the bottom or a small amount that one has to specifically touch the bottom to feel. If your laptop's fans are always whirling and running hot no matter what then I highly recommend to open it up and use canned air. I do this on mines every 6 months and it makes a big difference! This pad will not solve major overheating issues but will greatly lessen the heat has on your body. As for the wireless radiation blocking portion I haven't done any tests since I don't have one of those EMF meter thingies. They are quite expensive, especially a good one! This pad is designed to only reduce wireless radiation from below, which is very important, especially if you are a male. Although I can't say how much it reduces it by what I can say is that after a few weeks of use I do feel less fatigued than I usually did before. This is one of those products that is used daily without thought... until the laptop gets so hot that you are then reminded of it cuz you forgot to use it!

Tested, Works as Expected!!
I tested this using my Trifield TF2 device and it 100% works as expected. People giving it 1 star or saying it doesn't work almost made me second guess buying it, I'm glad I gave it a shot. People need to understand that this is meant to stop the EMF radiation and heat radiating out from beneath the laptop, to protect your lap. This protects the reproductive areas and that is most important! Obviously this is not offering any shielding for the top or the sides of your laptop, so there is no protection for your hands with this. Using a keyboard and mouse can help with that. The construction and quality of this is great so far, it feels sturdy and the grippy texture stops the laptop from sliding around. The blocking lowers levels significantly. I bought this with the DefenderPad Pillow and they work great together. The Pillow is comfy and adds another 3-4 inches of separation fromt he laptop to my lap, and reduces EMF levels further. Overall using both the pad and pillow I've reduced EMF levels from over 50 mG peaks to about 1 mG peak. I am using a Lenovo Legion Gaming Laptop, but if your laptop is putting out excessive EMF that could potentially change your results. One thing to consider is that EMF is increased when the laptop is plugged in, but even then I am reading less than 2mG peaks under the pad.

peace of mind, wrapped in minimalist design
Product: Defender Shield ✨ CONFESSIONS OF A HEALTH COACH The DefenderPad Sometime over the past few years, I migrated almost entirely from a desktop to my laptop. It felt liberating until I started noticing how uncomfortably warm my legs were getting and, inevitably, stumbled into the conversation about EMFs. The internet, of course, has opinions. Some say EMF blockers are useless; others say they’re essential. My instinct tells me the truth is somewhere in between. Curiosity led me to the DefenderPad Laptop EMF Radiation & Heat Shield, a sleek, modern pad that promises to protect your body from both radiation and heat. I like that it’s slim, sturdy, and minimal. According to DefenderShield, their Ultra Armor+ shielding technology blocks up to 99 percent of EMF emissions—including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and 5G frequencies—while the silicone thermal layer keeps heat from transferring to your lap. In real life, it feels simply cooler, both literally and aesthetically. My laptop stays put on its non-slip surface, and my legs no longer feel like they’re baking halfway through a writing session. In a world where wellness extends beyond what we eat or wear to how we work, the DefenderPad feels like an easy solution. Whether the protection is absolute or partial, it delivers something equally important: peace of mind.

It does seem to do what it claims...
I tested it with a TriField gaussmeter and the reading did not increase at all from ambient levels. I never tested it with my RF meter because I use my laptop with ethernet (and you should too if you are trying to reduce exposure). By the way, don't make the mistake I made for many years...use a SHIELDED ethernet cable and GROUND it by using conductive tape (not aluminum tape - the adhesive is not conductive) Here is what I use: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B097HC9HR7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1. It is SO simple to do. If you have the ethernet cable connected to an ethernet over powerline device you will likely have body voltage north of 40 VOLTS which completely defeats the purpose of using ethernet in the first place (if you're doing it for health reasons). Just connect a small piece of the tape to all the gold plated connectors that are plugged into the switch or router and use a gator to ground plug into a grounded outlet in order to ground all electrical fields - IF your home or apartment is properly grounded, that is. Anyway, back to the product. It seems to work. However, there was a really nasty chemical smell (probably from the glue connecting the padding to the mat). It took about 1-2 months to fully go away, and the mat is not completely evenly connected to the mat, so that was a little sloppy. I'll be nice though and I won't deduct a star for that. If you get one that's been sitting in the warehouse a little longer, it's possible all the glue will have off gassed by then. The product does seem a bit pricey but you really can't go wrong with it as it is a nice size, fairly comfortable with good grip, and it really does block 99.99% of ELF. If that's very important to you, I'd say it's well worth it. Most if not all competitors' products only block 80-90%. I'd recommend paying 30-40 dollars more for FULL protection - stop cheaping out on yourself and just BUY IT already! Good luck! -Mark

Expensive plastic
Cheap piece of plastic... Does not block any heat, I still must put a book under my MacBook for comfort. Hopefully it is blocking EMF. But we don't know do we. Could be a $150. piece of melted down water bottles. The first one was delivered cracked in half! This is to satisfy your FUD... Fear Uncertanty and Doubt

An EMF protection product that actually works!
I am a pretty heavy computer user. I run three small businesses and constantly have my laptop with me and it’s usually on. I was discussing the dangers of EMF exposure with a good friend of mine who happens to be an electrical engineer by trade and who has children that use their laptops and ipads on their laps for hours at a time. Of course being very concerned about frequent EMF exposure, he told them not to put them directly in their laps, but they still did. So he went on the internet to find something to protect his kids, but instead found mostly nonsense products. (buttons, pendants, stickers, USB plugs, pads, sleeves and all this other garbage that doesn’t doing anything to shield radiation emissions) He explained to me that when he spoke with any of these companies, he found little to no evidence that their devices actually work, nor could they substantiate their outrageous claims. Being technically minded and having some electrical engineering training I am inclined to believe his experiences and we agreed to help one another with this dilemma. Which brings me to the Defenderpad. I happened to find this product while searching for EMF protection products and suggested that my friend give them a call since he knows more about the subject than I. He didn’t mention that he was an electrical engineer, because we wanted to hear exactly what they had do say. What set this company apart was when he spoke with them, they knew exactly what they were talking about and described believable physics. So we went ahead and bought one and decided to do a little testing together. We mimicked their independent testing environment as closely as possible with the tools available to us by testing the shielding for very low frequencies up to very high frequencies using my friends isolation chamber. I won’t bore you with the details, but we were able to confirm their shielding effectiveness. In fact, our testing showed that they did better than their claims. We also noticed the ambient RF within the room around the DefenderPad was less than the surrounding area (a desirable feature they do not claim). We also looked at their patent and were able to understand why they could shield such a wide range of frequencies so effectively. All I can tell you is that I feel safer using the Defenderpad. I strongly recommend it. Before buying EMF products, please make sure that the companies provide you with some sort of proof their product works. I didn’t realize how many charlatans were out there on the internet before I began this journey and it’s kind of scary.
