Loma Linda, Cedar Lake, Worthington, etc. - Info and Where/How to find them and others.
I was raised on products by Loma Linda, Cedar Lake, Worthington, etc. I find the Choplets to be one of the better ones both in texture and taste, along with Fri-Chiks (veggie chicken nuggets), Skallops (veggie scallops); Wham (veggie ham) and Prosage (veggie sausage). Unfortunately, the products have become harder to find since the brands were sold and purchased by corporations such as Nabisco, etc. And the latter two I mentioned (Wham and Prosage) are sold in rolls vs. canned, not available here on Amazon. If you need to find the Choplets (or FriChik) and they become unavailable here, try looking for a Seventh Day Adventist book/food store in your area or a neighboring state. They carry a larger product line from these brands, and many of the stores will ship. If you buy in bulk, it's worth the shipping price (and usually the cost is lower than you'll find elsewhere). Some SDA churches also have deliveries brought in occasionally. Loma Linda is an SDA-based college (or it was), and they're the ones who developed most of these foods, which is why you can still find it through SDA stores at least for now. Hope this is helpful! :)

Excellent quality vegan meat sub, but costly
These were our first purchase of anything from this brand, and we loved these (me = vegan, husband = flexitarian). This is an excellent quality vegan meat substitute. It has a very nice, dense texture with a mild flavor of its own that's enjoyable by itself or with additional seasoning. The choplets are very juicy. The price is high, but, there's a lot of choplets packed in each can; at least two meals for two people. If you do the math compared to other vegan meat subs, the cost is not too terrible, especially given the quality. We really enjoyed them cut up in a beef tips on rice recipe with a mushroom-wine gravy. I highly recommend these.

I'm done trying to order Choplets
I'm done trying to order Choplets. I've eaten these since I was a kid, but whoever took over loma linda products has ruined a good thing. Not only did they start selling 1/2 as much product for the same amount, the choplets themselves are much smaller. One can I opened only had three choplets. Also, the cans were extremely dented, but the box they came in wasn't, which tells me they shipped them out that way. Sad day for long time customers.
