Just a bunch of blank card stock sheets. 5x7. Nothing like what was described.

Been playing guitar for many years and just started taking lessons. My homework is to study BB King on Youtube and learn three of his short riffs a week, which I write in my journal along with the timestamp of the video. I also end up composing many of my own riffs which I write down. I've grown immensely doing this homework and I love this journal. This song writing journal has an attractive and sturdy leather cover which I know will last for years and take on a nice worn look. There are two ribbon bookmarks to keep my place. Anytime I've kept a journal like this I end up looking at it many many years later... and I know that in a year from now I'll have a hundred riffs or so written down in this journal and in 10 years from now I'll look back on it fondly. I'm happy with my purchase!

Very cute little book to jot down tunes. I wish I'd have noticed how tiny it is beforehand. I think it will be filled with songs that I work out on other staff paper, as these pages might be difficult to read if eraser marks smudge those tiny lines. Super cute for finished songs and camping tho!

What comes first: music or lyrics? You can capture both on every spread because all the elements are here. Charts for chords, the staff to jot a melody, a place for lyrics, a section to lay down some fresh rhymes. Plus a cool foldout with basic theory to jog your memory or inspire you to explore a path you might not have considered. Definitely designed by a working songwriter. Of course, I've used regular notebooks, but I love having a place for everything — ready for whatever my imagination serves up. Highly recommended!

I have a TON of leather(some monogrammed) notebooks...but I keep grabbing THIS one. I think it's the size, shape, and I always have a pen on it. Good things sometimes DO come in "small packages".

So disappointed! It’s about the size of a man’s hand, and the lines for writing lyrics and notes is smaller than a gnat’s butt. Epic fail and false advertising.

Um, this is tiny and not a good value. I have already started the return process.
