YAKIMARotopax Mounting Kit, T-Slot Mounting Bracket for Rotopax Pack Mounts

I bought this knowing it was for a Yakima rack, but I had to try it. I added two washers and it slides right into the rails on my roof top tent. Perfect fit, and great quality. I highly recommend this product.When I go out on longer trips I run out of bed space pretty quickly. Being able to mount my fuel outside the bed is fantastic. I won't use this often, but the 4 times a year when I go on longer trips this will add a level of comfort knowing I'll always have fuel.

So while they are a perfect fit, they are just metal brackets, the prices that Yakima and Rotopax get for the mounting hardware for these racks and tanks is a bit extreme, but they are heavy duty and I don't have to worry about them going anywhere.

The photos, show bolts attached to the insert and then the larger bracket. That isn't possible, because the insert is threaded and the bracket isn't. So they're just screwed into the insert, doing nothing.Why is there an insert? Because the main bracket is a lighter metal, and only the insert is a stronger metal that can reliably be tapped. Keep that in mind for your heavy-duty use.Also, the round part is plastic. Its job, as far as I can tell, is to hold the carriage bolts (with the square section below the head) in place when attaching bolts. But the plastic is likely to give and prevent real tightening.Finally, there's little hardware provided -- just two screws to attach to the threaded insert and a pair of washers and a pair of lock washers for those screws.If none of that bothers you

Ya ya ya thanks however: please note! It was probably the us post lady who dropped it off ok- don’t set a package on a flower pot please. The person who dropped it off just passed by ( 2) two benches ( 3 ) feet long! That would have been better. The wind we have in this corner seems almost constantly blowing somewhat and the slightest move could have damaged these pricey seedlings. ... next time please put the package on the bench- that would be appreciated. Thank you

I just bought 2 of these. The round back plate is actually made of plastic. Also, there isn't any hardware to connect the round backplate to the rectangular backplate, is this to be purchased separately? Everything I researched doesn't have any info stating that is the case. How do you mount the T Handle? There isn't a predrilled hole to allow for it. If this can't be resolved, I will be returning the items.
