Q: What format is needed

If you mean Memory card, it's Micro SD up to 128GB if you mean what video format does it record in? Then the app shows H264, H264+ and H265X. All of which I have no idea what they are. However! When you export any recordings mine where in Mpeg4 format which can be viewed on pretty much anything :) Still shots exported as a Jpeg. so all good

Mine recognised the card immediately and records to it automatically, was never a problem. Incidently, the best camera I got. Great resolution, pans left/right and up/down - even from remote locations, ie away from your home wifi. Worth every penny
