According to critics, the 2009 vintage in Bordeaux produced perfectly balanced wines and rivals to be the best vintage in the last 32 years! The vines flowered early in June, followed up by uniformly warm weather throughout the summer producing a healthy fruit set. Verasion came early in the end of July (instead of August) turning the grapes from green to a deep purple. The grapes were then allowed to hang on the vine ripening into mid October, giving the fruit great complexity that has been transferred to the wines.
