Beautiful genmaicha exactly as it should be.
This is a top quality, beautifully tasting genmaicha and given I have been drinking Japanese green tea (many varieties) for well over 15 years and some purchased in Japan, I hope I know what I am talking about. The price is also very decent for the quality. Will be repurchasing this and highly recommend!

My favorite tea at the moment
Unfortunately I am no expert on tea so take this with a grain of salt — but this tea is fantastic — same exact taste as the Genmaicha we get at this japanese restaurant. If you end up not picking this one — just make sure you get something from Japan.

Good compared to others in the UK, but not as good as those direct from Japan
A blend of toasted rice and low-ish range sencha makes up this nutty and mild tea, but it has a typical taste associated with old tea and infusing it at the wrong temperature or for the wrong amount of time can quickly and easily make it far too astringent.Usually, genmaicha is made with a lower quality tea called bancha which has larger leaf sizes, whereas this is made with a type of tea called sencha. The grade of the sencha is still relatively low, as it consists of fairly inconsistent sized leaves and leaf particles. For a genmaicha it is actually not too bad if you infuse it at lower temperatures of around 70c, but the standard 80c for these types of tea brings out a taste that suggests "this tea is not as fresh as it could be".I am biased of course because I import loose leaf Japanese teas from a number of farms and vendors in Japan, and in contrast to those it is not a great tea, but in contrast to what you will find in the UK I would have to say it's better than most.My rating is based on comparing this tea to others you'll find in the UK, but I would always recommend that you use this as a step towards importing fresh tea directly.

Interesting taste profile not everyone will like
This tea is made out of 50% organic green tea and 50% organic roasted brown rice. Country of origin is Japan which adds to the authenticity. The roasted popped rice is known to help with digestion and is traditionally consumed with meals. So if you find yourself having digestion problems quite often, this might be a good natural solution instead of drinking Gaviscon. However, the roasted brown rice produces butter sweet flavour and the tea smells like popcorn to me which I do not prefer, taste-wise it is a little better. Overall, this tea is very interesting, not for everyone's taste buds and the price is okay for organic Japanese green tea.

Looks good quality tea with large rolled leaves
Looks and tastes great the leaves are large so you get alot of flavour in every cup. You can get 2 rounds of tea out of one measure of tea. Just leave in for a little longer on the second cup.

Geschmack
Ich liebe diese tee! Warum?
