Sennelier Delacroix Fixative, 13.5 Fl Oz, Spray (Pack of 1), Clear

For the last 20 odd years I've been gagging on the stench of Krylon workable fixative, whimpering every time I need to use it and scowling as the pungent stench remains for months. The malignant odor lingered in my studio, even though I always spray my work outside and let it air out before bringing it back in. I have been hating it for way too long, so I finally decided that springing for the Sennelier option was worth a try.I'll never go back.This wonderful fixative spray does have a smell, and I still go outside to use it and allow it to dry and breathe, but it is not that overpowering punch to the olfactory nerve I tolerated for much too long. I also think it works much better, it sprays more evenly. If you're wondering if it's worth the cost, the answer is most assuredly YES.

I can’t praise this spray enough! It’s absolutely beautiful when applied to a drawing. Doesn’t run or cause running with the charcoal or pencil. I’ve used colored pencils and it doesn’t even run those. I will buy this again! It is worth it to save my drawings from smearing and improved the overall look of my drawings! Great! I have purchased this product before, and will continue to purchase as long as it is available. It is a wonderful fixative for my pencil/charcoal drawings. It sprays on easily, and keeps my finished pieces from smudging. Plus, although you should always use this and all similar products in a well-ventilated area, the smell is not offensive and won't leave you feeling as if you should have used a gas mask!This is not a workable fixative.

I use this to fix pencil drawings in a journal so the pages don't smudge when the book is closed. It works great, and the best part is that it really doesn't have a strong odor and can be used indoors as long as you have a fairly large room or a little ventilation!

I've tried many fixatives for my pastel and graphite artwork in the past, only to have the work ruined as the products I used darkened and took away the smootheness and perfect blending of the pieces. I stopped using fixatives for years, but decided to give this one a shot. I highly recommend it as it does not alter one iota of the artwork. It looks exactly the same before and after spraying and only a light application is needed to get the job done. I love it and will definitely order more!

Ultimately this is the best fixative for pencil work on the market. I have used other brands that end up spitting and ruining the artwork. This is well worth the extra money. After all, you spend way too much time invested in your drawing to have it ruined because of some cheap brand that spits. The spray comes out like a fine mist.

Most fixative sprays out there leave horrible fumes, this one does not. Have used it so far for a couple of charcoal drawings on strathmore 300 and 400 paper and has worked great with multiple light coats, no paper discoloration or splotching.
