Tiny Ammounts of Each Color
The tools are not as they appear in the picture but are see-through and, clearly, easy to lose. This makes it both harder to work with for beginners with no background in clay, but especially for children. If I had gotten this for kiddo instead of myself to make something FOR him for Christmas, he would have lost the tiny see-through plastic tools within the first time of using them. The pictures do there utmost to make it appear as if the clay packets are larger than they are. They are very small. This isn't a lot of each color clay.To be fair, we went with this set because we are low on funds and while the clay isn't my best medium I at least know the basics of working with it and to surprise him with the figurines he wants I am making them. If that means kid grade materials so be it. I do the same with paint etc when I need to do so(wouldn't believe what you can do with some materials if you are determined enough to do it).So to be clear, we didn't expect professional-grade anything, but looking at this for kids... and how little you get of what... the 'tools' and 'book' feel more like padding to make it seem a better deal than it really is. The meat and potatoes is the clay. That is what I'd want more of in a pack. I'd have liked it better if there was some more of just plain clay to go with it, like is standard in many sets of anything, even with the kid sets. You can usually find a plain color that has more, such as getting more white in a paints set. Sometimes that isn't the case these days, I've noticed, but... it's a standard that has a reason. For instance, you could turn this into a fun craft painting tiny little things with the kids etc. It becomes more than clay(albeit a little more messy by nature as paint gets EVERYWHERE when children become involved- but in general I have pairs of jeans with paint on them even as an adult- so it's a bit messier but still). That is more a personal preference though... but it would make it feel a little more worth it despite the fact the 'colors' it promises are all in tiny packages of less than 0.5 ounces each despite the fact the photos are clearly meant to make it look much more than that. That feels a lot like false advertising. I would have liked it if they listed the ounces.Edit: Changing to one star because the clay is dried and crumbly and I have no idea if I can even rehydrate it enough to even use it despite the fact we JUST got it).

Very small, book is dated. Not for beginners.
So much smaller than anticipated. Each piece of clay is about 1.5"x2" and less than 1/4" thick. The box this came in itself is only about 7"x12"x2.5". Yes, there are many colors, however, it's not worth that price in my book....And speaking of books: the book provided, only describes about 10 tutorials on 70's style doll figurines (grandma would find them cute, not a 10yo), and a few Winnie the Pooh characters. No basics on shaping, using the tools provided, or even basic care and storage. This is not for beginners (like kids), who want to learn how to work with polymer clay. It's just a color sampler, with a dated pamphlet. The tools are small enough for fine detail work, but they are flimsy plastic. It came with a plastic tube as a rolling pin, so flimsy, it started to crack from squeezing it in my hand. I'll have to get a separate set of real tools. I don't trust the ones provided. This kit is best for those artists looking for a good sampler for creating minature items (i.e. dollhouse/fairy garden). My 10yo will likely be unimpressed. The pictures the seller provides are misleading. Not recommended as a "starter kit." As someone who's worked with polymer, I find this kit to be a joke. And starting my kid off in my hobby, would've been less expensive to go to a physical craft store and buy what I know is actually worth the money.

High-quality set
This actually has a more than decent range of colors. For some reason, it seems to have a very expansive set of Purple tones, and is a tad limited everywhere else. The clay itself is not sticky and rather firm. You can use a heat gun or your palms to warm it up a bit to get it to a workable consistency. Once it's ready to mold, it simple to add/subtract from the mounds. The included tools allow you to make very accurate cuts/divots and so on to produce fine details. This is great for beginners and others, but just be aware of the limited amount of clay you receive, as this set would probably be best for a small round of charms or figurines, but nothing too exaggerated.

Great for children, not for professional use.
This is definitely for beginners, more for children possibly. I bought this pack to start beginning clay earring making and I love the variety of colors and easy handling and the generous amount of clay tools this pack provides, however they do not bake well. They will not become as tough as concrete for however long you may leave it in the oven, they’ll still be easily breakable and soft-like even. More for children

Lots of color choices!
It’s been awhile since I have written a review. That being said, I have to confess that I am a bit of a clay freak. You can do so much with it! The possibilities are endless. Like the other reviewers have stated, it doesn’t take long for the clay to become a bit tacky. This to me, is a minor irritation, really I like not having to condition the clay for 15 or twenty minutes. If it bothers you, pop it in the fridge for a few minutes. Bottom line, great deal lots of colors, lots of tools and ideas. There is probably not a kid on the planet who wouldn’t love this set (and most of their parents as well.). This deal is a “No Brainer.”

Great starter kit
Cheaper than name brands, great product for learning artists. My 5 year old is learning how to sculpt, and she loves that we can easily and quickly (like 20 minutes or less) bake her art and harden it! We're making fun little barbie foods and accessories. My only negative as that it really reacts to the heat of your hands. It becomes easily sticky, going from easily pliable to slightly goopy and sticky in a matter of minutes. Good for easy crafts but probably not great for professional works.

Small size clay
I am extremely disappointed... The sizes of clay are so small... One project would use an entire color or most of the box! 😡 For the price I expect at least double or triple the amount of clay...

Excellent clay!
As a first time clay user, absolute beginner level!, I chose this clay based on the reviews about ease of use. Also, the fact that the clay was air-dry was what was most important to me. I've included pictures here of the results. AND I've ordered a LOT more of this clay! LolI highly recommend it for professionals and beginners / novices alike! :) Happy creating, folks! :)

Excellent starter kit for children or adults
The kit comes with the colours of clay in little plastic packages, some pink plastic tools, and a clear rolling pin. It provides all the basic tools you need to start working with clay. The booklet of ideas is fun and clear. I was amazed by how much stuff I got for how much I paid! The clay is great to work with; not too soft but very malleable when rolled in my hands. Bakes great as according to directions.
