This book is well written by a master who loves her linens and she tries to educate as well as inform you on how to appreciate and care for them. Pages of gorgeous photography and well written prose on the subject for both Antique and New Linens and how to store and care for them.. Buy it you will love this beautiful book.. We designers are all familiar with her beautiful Linens regular and Custom.. Her Linens are as lovely as she is!

This book is like that indulgent piece of chocolate that you want to savor...I find a few minutes in a day to take and read/look at Linens...I do not want to finish it, and keep going back for more refreshment and ideas. What surprised me most was the great content. Many books of this size with beautiful photographs do not impart much knowledge on the subject of the photos. That was a delightful surprise, thus the 5 star rating.Was fortunate to briefly meet the author at a San Francisco book signing....was sorry I had not read it yet to tell her how helpful and wonderfully sumptuous Linens is- however, she must know it!I would not recommend this book to those who really do not care about (appreciate) being amongst beautiful things such as fine linens, towels, bedding, etc.

If you love interior decor, you must read this book. I thought I knew a lot about linens, having done a lot of research and shopping in the past, but I learned a lot and received many great ideas and recommendations. Bed, bath and dining linens are such an important element of any comfortable home, and this book is the quintessential guide. I kept thinking, this is the kind of book that has everything one probably would have learned from their mother (about linens) in days gone by. :) Also I believe it would be a great gift for a design enthusiast (consider including a set of cocktail napkins or kitchen towels too!).

Start with Full Disclosure: my house is in this book and JSH is a palBut I was blown away with the beauty and exhaustive knowledge JSH gives forth in this book. I learned so much; in setting my summer table, and a best way to get a guest room together. The photographs are ridiculous -- you will want to replicate each one. And by the time you finish this wonderful book, you will know how to get pretty close!!! This is the prettiest book of the summer and my choice as a hostess gift!!!!!!

I love this book. The various types of linen from modern to antique are displayed and explanations of the techniques used to decorate them are given. I have already gotten a number of ideas for embellishing my own linens. I am even thinking about buying an electric embroidery sewing machine. I already make my own napkins, but this book has given me additional ideas. The illustrations are beautiful and shown in their environment from bedrooms to kitchens. This book is timeless and will remain with my large collection of interior design books.

Have seen the linens in many magazines. Was lucky enough to visit the shop in New Orleans. Only wish I could afford them! The books gives you many guidelines and ideas that can be produced to fit your budget. If only they made a less expensive line and you could purchase ready made. I'm giving my girlfriends copies for Christmas along with the bosses wife. You'll visit the pages many many times. Never hurts to dream!!!!

Gorgeous and inspiring - what a lovely book! The photographs, as well as the text, reminded me that, yes, it is absolutely worth it to take the time necessary both to collect and to use beautiful linens. Includes some nice little anecdotes written by some well-known designers and, best of all, Jane Scott Hodges' excellent taste is evident throughout the book. Her designs will motivate even this lazy Southerner to get-with-it and make the effort. Thank you, for this beautiful book!

This book will fill your head with beds and decor that you dream about. Exquisite. Who lives this way? Sign me up! I first checked this out of the library and then had to have it. I wanted to refer to the arrangement of pillows, the monogram, the drape above the bed, the color scheme. Balance. Peace. If you want to lose yourself in someone else's attention to detail buy this book.

The book is very well published, on a good quality paper. However, its focus is on hotels and restaurants, but not on casual and everyday living.

Arrived later than it was supposed to, but I am glad with the book. Money well spent.
